Resistance 2 Latest Victim in Metacritic User Flames

Hmmmm…..fanboys, fanboys, fanboys, what fucking douchebags. After LittleBigPlanet’s low user score, the wrath of Sony fanboys was unleashed upon Gears of War 2’s user score as revenge. Now, it appears that the 360 fanboys just wouldn’t stand for that, even though they seem to have started this in the first place, and have been completely fucking the Resistance 2 user score.

Cost of games drives parents to piracy

Check out this snippet from a Sydney Morning Herald article…

Yvonne Wallbank, a mother of three boys, said the “horrendous” cost of the of the Nintendo game cards was driving many parents to resort to piracy. Each of her three sons, Maxx, 12, Alex, 10 and Nick, 8, has his own Nintendo unit. Mrs Wallbank said her sons had to use their pocket money to buy the games cards. “I can understand why parents use the pirated games. But as the owners of a small computer-related business I don’t believe in cheating people of their rightful income,” she said.

Common now, that’s just fucking ridiculous. The game carts range from $7-$40, going from used to new. If you really want to get a game cheap, get it used, jeez.

PS3 Underdelivers Again – FarCry 2 Gimped?

This is so, so, extremely dissapointing. I haven’t played it yet, but it seems like FarCry 2 is looking like it may look the worst on the PlayStation 3. This coming after the PS3 suppose to be the only “true” HD console.

Recently, IGN Insider head-to-head comparison of the game, the reviewer had the following to say regarding the differences:

“The only real differences are the PS3’s occasional framerate hitches and the dropping of some sound effects during hectic gunfights. These issues don’t really hurt the experience in any major way, but will be a minor irritation for some. If you’re at all interested in shooters, Far Cry 2 is an experience you will enjoy on any console. If you have the luxury of choice, the 360 version runs just a little bit more smoothly.”

1st = PC
2nd = 360
3rd = PS3

RUMOR – Secret of Mana hitting Europe/Australia this Friday?

A reader at GoNintendo sent in this juicy piece of information:

I have the latest edition of The Official Nintendo Magazine UK & Ireland and they have a review of Secret of Mana for the Europe/Australia VC. Since the Magazine isn’t due on UK and Irish news stands till Friday, they have said the game is ‘out now’.

I’d say that this has a 90% chance of comming true. Last time the Official Nintendo Magazine had info like this, it came out true, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

Igarashi on continuing work on DS Castlevania titles

“I would definitely like to develop still more Castlevania games for the DS platform! For the US market, though, the retail price on DS games are traditionally very low – $30, maybe $40 if the game card itself has a larger capacity. The development costs for Castlevania do tend to be higher than average for a DS game, so it’s hard to get some concepts for the series approved. I love the DS and want to continue work on it, but I’m not sure if it’s the best option from a pure business standpoint.”
