Can Level 5 De-throne Square Enix? + New Mag Scan

The thought is really mind-boggling. Level 5, can de-throne a huge-ass company such as Square Enix? Well, you may not of thought that was possible, but it’s certainly plausable in the near future. Level 5 only has 150 developers, while Square Enix has a whopping 3,275. Level 5 has been making RPGs for the past 10 years, if anyone in Japan knows who makes a good RPG, it would be Level 5.As a matter of fact, they were hand picked by the former Enix to produce Dragon Quest. But, an Level 5 really do it?

Xbox Slim Does Not Run 360 Titles

Wow, we’ve had a lot of odd mods today, and I don’t think I’ve ever quiet seen an Xbox mod like this before. Personally, I think it’s kind of sad that it took a modder to come up with the Xbox Slim, when Microsoft obviously couldn’t. Measuring a mere 10.2″ x 2.3″ x 9″ compared to the original that measured a whopping 12.5″ x 4″ x 10.5″. Its weight has also been cut 4 pounds, whereas the original was scaling at 8.5 pounds. Inside this amazing piece of machinery, you will find a DVD/CD-R slim combo drive, a 2.5″ 60GB hard drive and integrated Wi-Fi networking as well as a built-in receiver for a Logitech wireless controller. If this could only play 360 games…

Ladytron talks about their Zelda adventures

If you’ve played any of the recent EA sports games, than more then likely you’ve heard one of Ladytron’s songs. Most recently, music from Ladytron pops up in FIFA 09. It appears that the members of Ladytron are also gamers, and they talk about their Zelda adventures.

GT: Is anyone in the band a gamer? Any favorites you’d like to share with us?

RW: We’ve played GTA a lot in the back of the tour bus – the possibilities are endless and it just ceases to be a ‘game’. I’ve always loved all the stuff back in the 80s and 90s – Elite on the BBC Micro, Yar’s Revenge on the Atari, Streetfighter 2, I once started and completed Legend of Zelda in one day, during a sick day off school.

Meet your new Team Ninja…

At the Tokyo Game Show, Techmo introduced the new faces of Team Ninja. Jin Hasegawa has taken over as the head of the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive development team. We have yet to hear about upcoming games, and which consoles they will come out on, but Techmo only said that they are working on “a shitload of projects.”

Microsoft targets 1 million Xbox 360 sales in Japan

Aiming for the skies is what Microsoft is doing right now. By boosting advertising, and leaverging new games, Microsoft Co hopes to sell at least 1 million units in Japan. Both the 360 and the PS3 aren’t doing the best in Japan, and the people aren’t embracing them as well as the Wii, the 360 still has games coming out only on it, which will hopefully help increase the sales as well.

$150 to Play Full StarCraft II?

Since the announcement of the StarCraft II trilogy, which will be splitting up the StarCraft II game into 3 products, which means that people that want to play the game will have to possibly pay $150. I don’t know what the motivation behind this decision was, and why the company would even want to do it seeing as how it could split the core users. What do you guys think?

You thought it was good before, now the Wii can play PC games!

Who’s laughing now Sony and Microsoft?! The Wii can now play PC games as well as being totally awesome by it’s self. It may not “technically” be a Wii, because the idea is to take out ALL of the Wii parts, and put in the parts from you’re PC. So it’s like…a WiiC. Of course, if you can fit all of the Wii and PC parts in there, and still have the disk drive working, send me an email and I’ll give you lots and lots money (not really).

Microsoft sues DHL after train dumps 21,600 Xboxes

After a DHL train went off of the tracks near Duke, Texas, Microsoft is sueing DHL. In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle, Microsoft said it is seeking more than US$2 million in damages from DHL for two containers of Xbox 360 consoles that sustained “impact damage, wetting, pilfering and shortage” after a derailment near Duke, Texas.

Microsoft is saying that DHL is failing to compensate for it’s loss, and saying that they “negligently breached its duties as a common carrier, handler, bailee, warehouseman, agent, or in other capabilities,” according to the court papers.

I guess we’ve just got to see what DHL is going to do, but I’m pretty sure they’re going to be paying Microsoft big time for this one.
