Microsoft Cheats Gamer Out Of 121,250 Gamerpoints
So imagine this: You’re a huge gamer who bought the Xbox 360 on day one. You stood in line for over 20 hours in the pouring rain, just for Microsoft’s newest console. Pretty hardcore, right? It gets better. Imagine now, with me, that over the course of the past several years, you’ve played games on your 360 nearly every chance you got. You’ve racked up a huge gamerscore, only to have it all taken away one day without ANY warning.
This unfortunately, is the sad story of a SlapStic reader. He had racked up his gamerscore to 121,250. Yeah, that’s more than any other person in the entire state of New Jersey. He was playing Mirror’s Edge and received an achievement that he had already received earlier in the day. He soon discovered that his gamerscore had dwindled down to 25. What the FUCK!?
Jack Barbosa is no cheater, and he called Microsoft themselves to see if he could get things straightened out. They essentially informed Jack that he was just out of luck, saying that it was “abnormal for a person to achieve an undisclosed amount of achievements in such a short period of time.” Jack even tried to find out what games or achievements on his gamercard were in question, but they refused to comment.
This is extremely sad, and everyone here is sorry for you Jack. We hope that you get your gamerscore back!

PlayStation@Home Goes All Hic-a-doo-La [Playstation Home]
So roughly 30 people lined to form the (virtual) world’s longest chain of avatars doing the running man dance? Wow, if this is what people are doing with the release of PlayStation@Home 1.0, it makes me wonder what their going to be doing in months from now.
Kotaku Reader “Kurt Cobain” Says:
It lasted for about an hour or so, so power to the people who took part spontaneously, mostly not knowing one another. It started from the clubhouse, just being silly. Then onto the bowling alley, then on the mall. When suggested to take it outside, thats what we did.
Here’s video of the first a 25-man chain. Note how nearly everyone has a bucket hat and shades

Netflix on Xbox 360 defeats the purpose
I haven’t used it yet, but from what Mike Ferro at Blorge says, it’s very underwhelming, and it really defeats the purpose of having the software.
As of now, you cannot queue up movies straight from your 360. You have to walk over to your PC and place the movies into your queue to watch them. You have to finish up your list before you can even begin to watch the movies on your 360. If you ask me, this is totally defeting the purpose of the software on the 360. The only advantage of having it on your 360 is….well, you can watch movies on it?
Either way, your going to need a PC for the whole Netflix idea, so why not just watch them on your PC while your there and doing shit on it? Well, maybe it’s just me, but this seems like a waste of time.

Gears 2 Up for Five Awards at VGAs
Looks like Gears of War 2 is going to be up there with LittleBigPlanet in nominations for awards at the VGA’s. Here’s what the games up for:
- Game of the Year award
- Best Multiplayer Game
- Best Xbox 360 Game
- Best Graphics
- Best Shooter
I’d count it out of Game of the Year, and best 360 game, but it could take the cake for the rest of those.

Phenom II runs Far Cry 2 at 5GHz+
LN2 is a dangerous liquid and if you are not careful you can burn an arm or two, but if you want some top overclocking scores, you still have to use it.
AMD has showed that Deneb, Phenom II CPU, when cooled with LN2 can run stable at over 5GHz+ and run stable Far Cry 2 benchmark. This is a great score as the guys who were overlocking have said that this was the first time they seriously played with Deneb overclocking. The temperature was insane minus 186 Celsius!

Will Killzone 2 Sell Well?
Is Killzone 2 doomed from the start? We all know that amazing target render in 2005 of Killzone 2, that had
people talking about how the PS3 would be the best gaming console EVER. Now, Killzone 2’s release is right around the corner, and is the game actually going to live up to everyone’s expectations?
The main problem that I see, and that I think everyone thinks is the lack of advertising Sony is going to do for the game. Like every other great, amazing game on the PlayStation 3, there’s going to be a lack of advertising. For example, LittleBigPlanet, although selling great, still could have sold more if Sony had put some force behind the advertising.
I guess you can’t tell until the game comes out if it’s going to sell good or not, but from what I see, it’s not going to sell well enough if Sony doesn’t step up their advertising game.

Analysis: PS3 vs Xbox 360, which controller is better for games?
So which is better? The PS3 Dualshock controller, or the Xbox 360 gamepad? This debate has raged on ever since the release of both consoles, and it’s not particluarly hard to decide.
Fighters - Soul Calibur (Xbox 360 & PS3 versions)
Fighters such as Street Fighter, Tekken and Soul Calibur require the use of the d-pad to execute precise moves. However, due to the finicky nature of executing a move, exact precision is required. When observing the d-pad of both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, gamers will notice a significant difference between the two.
On the Xbox 360, the d-pad is utterly useless due to its odd design. Moves are extremely hard to execute because you literally feel like you are trying to move a single piece of plastic, versus having independent up, down, left and right angles.
