World of Goo Piracy Numbers Prove DRM is Worthless
Wow, that really, really sucks. This just goes to show that DRM is worthless. 2D boy, the people that created World of Goo, estimate that the piracy rate for the game is %82. That’s really, really bad.
They made a post on their site, and did some research, and the piracy rate for the PC game is %90. Their game, which has no DRM, had around the same piracy rate as Ricochet Infinity, an independent game that does have DRM. Well, anybody that reads this should pick up the game and support these guys, because they’ve done a great job on the game, and put a lot of hard work into it. Don’t Support Piracy!

Xbox Live less stable than PS3 PSN?
This is kind of weird. Xbox Live users are reporting connection issues for the Live accounts. Accounts are being disconnected from the network out of nowhere. The issue has been confirmed from Microsoft, and they are working to fix it. Would you expect that though what happened last year with the connection issues?

NPD Fallout: Little Big Planet’s Sales Not What They Could Have Been
LittleBigPlanet was released October 27 due to the big Quran deal, which resulted in a recall, and the game being pushed back. In that short amount of time, it made the top ten for sales charts in October, along with SOCOM: Confrontation. SOCOM selling 231,000 to 215,000, and LittleBigPlanet selling just over 200,000 units. That’s kind of disappointing to say the least for a game that was so highly anticipated, and was such a greatly developed game. Even at the end of the month though, I don’t think there’s any excuse for the game to only sell that little units. What do you guys think?

Plastic Cup and Toothpick Speakers Take Lo-Fi to New Heights
Interesting, and very, very ghetto. Plastic Cup and Toothpick speakers for your MP3 player. These are called “CupSpeakers” from designer Dmitry Zagga are MacGyverific. With nothing more than a large disposable drinking cup, a couple of toothpicks, and the iPod earbuds that were included with the iPod, Zagga has constructed a sleek, cheap, and easy speaker system for his iPod. He claims the volume increase is “significant,” and his photography makes this self-aware DIY project look like something straight out of a Steve Jobs PowerPoint.
The toothpicks hold these fancy little cups together, and the holes in the cups on top is where you put the earbuds. Turn on the music and get pumpin!

San Francisco man risks life for iPhone
Pretty interesting, and something that I would do. Gene Wood, an operations manager at Ask.com, wrestled for his beloved $499 iPhone that he paid for. Wood is an astounding 6 foot, 240 pound man, jumped from his seat and pursued the thief. This is what he said to account for his little “battle” for his iPhone.
I jumped on his back and got my arm around his neck tackling him to the ground. We slide up against the brick wall that makes up the stairs going up at Church. I bring my other arm around and push his face into the corner of the wall and the ground with my elbow. At this point I terrified myself a bit as I’m on top of him screaming at the top of my lungs “Give my fuckin phone back bitch!” I grab the phone which is wedged between him and the ground and pry it from his hands.
All before the train left the station. Good job Gene, your a role model for all of aspiring iPhone owners, and how we should defend ourselves against muggers!

Prison Inmate Escapes Jail Using Cardboard Box
Well, at least we know this person was a gamer, or he was just thinking…outside of the box. Apparently, the man hid in the box at the end of a shift of his prison job of making stationery and was carried out by a courier service along with other boxes. The inmate left the prison grounds by cutting through the tarp on the back, and jumping off. Eventually, the driver noticed the tarp flapping in the wind and reported this little incident to the police.
