Crystal Defenders Final Fantasy Game Hits iPhone

Back in October, the Japanese magazine Famitsu revealed a Final Fantasy Tactics-styled game for the iPhone, called Crystal Defenders. Square Enix has just realsed it for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Although the official $7.99 release from Square doesn’t have the words “Final Fantasy” in it, it is heavily based off of A2 for the DS, using music, characters, jobs, weapons, and so on from the game.

There are three levels of play – W1 to W3 – each increasing in complexity. I haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet, but I will soon, and put some impressions up of it.
