Will Nintendo Step-Up the Graphics in the Wii 2?

The Wii, it’s the pinacle of our entertainment and gaming civilization today. It has sold more than both the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3 combined, and is no doubt, a success. Coming from the GameCube, which could inevitably called a failure in some respects, analysts were shocked to see such massive 3rd party support, even when the Wii was announced, and how good the Wii, and it’s games, were selling.
The only aspect of the Wii that has been critisized without end by reviewers and developers was, the graphics. The graphics are better than that of the GameCube, but only a little bit. Developers haveĀ been pushing the graphics to the limits with games like Far Cry…..yeah, that wasn’t even a funny joke. Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl all look great on the Wii, but there’s a question on a lot of peoples minds. Will Nintendo step-up the graphics to what Microsoft and Sony are doing for their next-gen consoles for the Wii 2 (or whatever it’s called)?
Personally, I think that Nintendo will bring the graphics of it’s next home console to what Microsof and Sony will be doing because of these facts. Nintendo has already seen the success of the Wii, not even 3 years in it’s lifespan. People are buying close to a million Wii units per month, and game sales are just as crazy. I think that the people that own a Wii, and like it, would sacrafice the extra money, to get a console that they already have experience with, and more than likely, enjoyed.
The Wii isn’t a console that really gets a lot of credit from the “hardcore” gamers, people that play online all of the time, love first person shooters, and graphics mean the world. If Nintendo updates the graphics with the Wii 2, that will more than likely bring in more developers that are interested in high-quality graphic games, but could also use the motion control that the Wii has to offer. This could open the Wii up to that more “hardcore” gamer, who are used to spending more money on consoles (especially if they own bought a PS3 at launch), and wouldn’t mind the bump in cost.
Although I do have super-powers, I cannot predict the future, so I do not (as well as other people) know what Nintendo is going to do for their next generation console. I do not know how they will “innovate”, what the graphics will be like, or anything like that. This is just pure speculation. What do you guys think? Will Nintendo push the graphics to that of Microsoft and Sony, or will they stick with the massive innovation, and just bumb up the graphics a little bit?

Clap
Me, I think nintendo is not aiming towards the graphics as much as interactivity. I think they will continue to leave graphics on the back burner while they find was to up it a bit, yet add more ways to feel like your in the game its self.

Yeah, as long as the game's fun though, it doesn't matter at all what the graphics look like!
