Final Fantasy XIII Will Max Out the PS3’s Power!

final fantasy xiii 300x168 Final Fantasy XIII Will Max Out the PS3s Power!

As if the release of the official Final Fantasy XIII demo wasn’t enough to get you excited for the game, here’s a little information regarding the power the game will use of the PS3.

Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of the much anticipated Final Fantasy XIII, has told Dengeki Magazine in an interview, that the retail version of the game will absolutely use 100% of the power of the console.

The producer was speaking to magazine Dengeki and stated: “Doesn’t the demo use about 50 percent of its power? Of course, I think the retail version will make use of nearly 100 percent.”

In case you didn’t know, the demo version of the game was done last year, and the remaining time will help the development team ‘finish up the tail end of the development.’

Here is (in my opinion), the most interesting part of this interview that occured:

Interviewer: How much of the PS3’s powers do you think the game will utilize at the end?

Kitase: I think around 50% for the demo version. For the final product (just before it’s released), I think it will use around 100% of its powers. It is the same situation with FFVII and FFX where we fully utilized the powers of the PS1 and PS2.

Interviewer: Since the PS3 has Bluray, there shouldn’t be too much trouble with storage?

Kitase: If you are talking about using a single or dual layer disc, there isn’t really a problem with storage space. However, the PS3 also has a hard drive. Depends on which one you are talking about, but there’s still some work to be done on the memory side of things.

Clearwire’s Clear Spot portable WiMAX / WiFi router now official, coming early April

clear spot wimax rm eng Clearwires Clear Spot portable WiMAX / WiFi router now official, coming early AprilGood news if you live in Portland, or are going to in the coming years: Clearwire’s announced that the CradlePoint-manufactured portable WiMAX-equipped WiFi router we saw back in January will be hitting stores in early April as the Clear Spot Personal Hotspot. Up to eight 802.11 b/g-compatible devices will be able to share the 4Mbps bandwidth. Price is $139 for the unit, but you’ll also have to pay for the internet service itself.

So, back to the Portland thing, Clearwire is going to start their new WiMax service in Portland, Oregon, which the company says: “like lightning, but faster.” This will cost about $30 and $50 a month (for unlimited service), or ten bucks for a 24 hour pass, with Clear’s own USB modem setting you back an extra $50. Not too bad of a deal huh? Too bad I don’t live in Portland, or anywhere even near Portland…

DPrime Review: Noby Noby Boy

6 noscale DPrime Review: Noby Noby BoyI guess I have to be fair in saying that I really didn’t know what to think of when doing a review for Noby Noby Boy. It’s such an odd game (if you could call it that). The game was created by Keita Takahashi, the same person that did Katamari Damacy, another “out there” game. It is available via the PlayStation Network for only $4.99.

When you play the game, there is really no object other than to get to the moon. Boy can stretch, stretch…and eat….and poop on command. That’s it, that’s all. Like I said before, you are trying to get your counterpart, Girl, which is what you are standing on, to get larger and eventually reach the moon. This happens by the combined effort of every single person playing Noby Noby Boy, in the whole freakin’ world. Other than that, you can hop from map to map on the only planet, most of which look generically the same, and offer no real form of distinctness.

The controls and camera of the game are odd and kind of really annoying. The camera of the game is controlled by the six-axis motion control (yeah, it’s that fuckin’ crazy), and you move Boy by using the left and right bumpers, as well as the analog sticks.

nobynobyboy 1024x576 DPrime Review: Noby Noby Boy

You are in a relatively small environment, where you see tons and tons of different NPC’s doing they’re regular thing. This includes riding toucans, hover cars, mechanical walkers, eagles, everything you would expect a normal NPC to do. The only sad part is, Boy can’t do any of these things.

With Boy, you can eat a number of things, and by eating those things, you then gain the ability to stretch farther, to even, enormous lengths. You can eat virtually anything that you see, including people, cars, animals, and plant-type things. But hey, say you eat a person and a fish….poop them out at the same time, and you get a person-fish combination! Yes, this is one of the little amusing thins that you can actually do in the game, but there are many possibilities, and they’re pretty damn fun.

In conclusion, the game is pretty good and fun to play, but it’s worth the buy just for the experience that you get. It’s fun to pick-up and play every now and then, and lets face it, it has that subtle charm of eating and pooping; priceless.

What I like:

  • Cuteness: Okay, lets face it, Noby Noby Boy is a freaking cute game. I mean, it’s worth it to just buy the game to see the whole design and how everything was created. This is definitely something created by Takahashi.
  • Interactivity between players: I really like how the game interacts with everyone that owns the game, to make Girl that much bigger. It creates the sense that everyone is going for a common goal.

What I don’t like:

  • Lack of things to do: There’s really a lack of things to do. I mean, you can eat, move, stretch, poop, but that’s about it. The game doesn’t really leave much for replayability other than the fact that you can pretty much see something new in you world every day.
  • Lack of Distinction between maps: I really like that they did creating multiple maps, but with the same objects and essential geometry, most of them are the same.

Sony To Hype Another Failure?

playstation3 1024x768 Sony To Hype Another Failure?Oh Sony hype, how fun and sometimes disappointing you are. According to Kotaku, Sony has an announcement for March 31st. Now, is this something to be excited for, or is it something to be cautious for in case it is another failure?

The first, and probably the most important thing to a lot of people that comes to mind would be a price drop of the PS3. Imagine the boost in sales of the console (including myself), and how that would help Sony in general.

Next, could it be the rumored 2.7 firmware update? This could be a huge announcement if the firmware comes with the rumored features and inclusions. This means Sony has to deliver the cross-game invites and the cross-game chat.

Lastly, how about information regarding games already announced or released? Hopefully, we can see more information about Gran Turismo 5 or Heavy Rain. So what is the announcement going to be? Well, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out!

Healthy 25-year-old man dies while playing Wii Fit

article 1165796 04297538000005dc 202 233x423 165x300 Healthy 25 year old man dies while playing Wii FitTim Eves, a 25-year old man, a supposedly fit and healthy many, suddenly collapsed on the floor of his apartment in front of his terrified girlfriend.

Tim was jogging on the Wii Fit balance board on the Wii, when he suddenly collapsed to the ground. Paramedics dashed to the house, but it was too late. He died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, also known as Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome.

The condition apparently kills up to 500 people each year.

Tim’s father, Alan, said: ‘He was just such a helpful, considerate and caring person.

‘He really threw himself into things and lived life to the absolute full.’

He added: ‘Tim packed so much into the 25 years that even if he had lived another 25 years he couldn’t possibly have made any more friends.

‘We all loved him so much.’

Well, this is an extremely sad story, and although it’s not Wii Fit’s fault directly, it is an unfortunate occurrence, and we wish the best to Tim’s girlfriend, and all of his family.

You will be saving the earth, but spending some more money at the same time, but at least your helping.
