Killzone 2: Ads pulled when child sees “monster”

Alright, I’m going to say this before I hear bitchy comments; this in and of itself isn’t really news, it’s just fucking funny. Apparently, Killzone 2 ads that were on the York Region Transit line of bus shelters got a complaint about the so called “scary” poster, but had done nothing about it until they started getting pulled by Sony Canada in Toronto.
A three-year old boy saw this poster, and refused to get on the bus or go to school, because he thought the creepy Helghast “monster” with the red-eyed was going to be at his school.
“He really thought what he saw was going to be inside the complex,” explained Mr. Rennie.
It’s unfair, stupid, and insane, but kind of funny at that. I mean, what the hell? Because one little dumb-shit believes that something on the poster is going to be at his school, doesn’t mean that a whole advert series for the game has to be pulled. Whatever though, I hope that kid gets beat-up at school.

Clap
Can’t blame the toddler. I’m afraid a new generation will grow up thinking that virtual life is real. Mix it with political correctness and we’ll be getting more crap from our decision-makers.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I mean, I think that there’s too many people online and gaming and not exercising or going outside. I mean, being a blogger and gamer, I have to play games and be online, but I get more than my fair share of exercise.

A bit of an over-reaction to pull the ads after ONE complaint…

Yeah, seems kind of stupid, but whatever. I don’t think it affected the games sales much.
