5.09: The Amount in GigaBytes that you Will Use Downloading the Final Fantasy XIII Demo
![]()
A Japanese blog on the internet has done a technical analysis both Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, and the Final Fantasy XIII Trial Edition (Demo). Apparently, the Blu-Ray movie comes in at about 30GB due to a video bitrate of 27.8Mbps, and audio bitrate of about 1.9Mbps.
However, the Final Fantasy XIII demo will come at the price of a whopping 5.09 Gigabytes, including the 256MB PS3 Update Data, which, depending if your a huge Final Fantasy fan or not, because the demo only contains an hour of gameplay.
Further analysis of the files in the demo show that there are two big movie files, one of which is 2.04GB (z016_ps3.wmp), and the second is 2.37GB (z000_ps3.wmp). This means that 4.41GB of the demo is just video.
So what does this mean? The 360 will obviously have to have a lower video quality due to the Final Fantasy series’s knack for having high-ass-quality CG rendered movies. Will it go the route of having only a couple “real” rendered movies, with the rest in-game, or what?
Also, does this mean that the 360 will get the “worse” version of the game as compared to that of the PS3, or will the PS3’s version be knocked down a little bit so that the game is true to both console owners?
