Namco Museum Essentials coming to PSN

nacomsuemspsn Namco Museum Essentials coming to PSN

Japan’s Namco Museum Essentials is crossing the pond to America’s PlayStation Network this July.  More like an app than a collection of games, the downloadable will serve as a hub for various classic Namco arcade games, such as Pac-man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Dragon Spirit, Xevious, as well as new 1080p re-makes like Xevious: Resurrection.  As a Playstation downloadble, it will include trophies, but also included will be items that players can unlock in the games and show off in PlayStation Home, something that was long ago promised to Sony owners but has so far been relatively unrealized.

Namco Bandai will also be creating a new gamespace within PlayStation Home simultaneously with the release of Museum Essentials. It will serve as the hub for all of Namco Bandai’s upcoming downloadable games.  PlayStation Home items can also be unlocked for those who visit the space. All in all, it looks as though Home fans and fans of classic Namco arcade games will have something to look forward to in just a few short weeks.
