Rumor: PS3 Slim at Tokyo Game Show?

Many of you have seen this leaked box for the “PS3 Slim” by now, but speculation has run the gamut of being a fake image to being the real deal. Well, let the speculation continue!
In the latest issue of PlayStation World magazine based in the UK, there is a small article mentioning the PS3 Slim and with some new information about when it will be announced. The article reads:
“The PS3 Slim Packaging looks almost identical to the confirmed PSP Go, so it isn’t a fake. Expect the smaller, lighter PS3 to be announced at the Tokyo Games Show in September, just in time for Xmas”
This year the Tokyo Games Show will be held from September 24 to September 27 in the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan. I’m quite interested to see what Sony has cut out of the Slim model, and what price point they will set for it. With the addition of the motion controlling devices, I can’t imagine them taking out ALL the USB slots, but most current PS3 systems only have 2 now instead of the original 4.
Check back in with Default Prime during the Tokyo Games Show for more news on this.

Clap
Couple this with a price cut, and I’m buying one.

I dunno, I’m torn on “slim” systems, they cut out a lot. The PS3 regular needs a price cut, but if this is the only way Sony can get a lower-priced model out there, then I guess at least it’s someway to get a PS3 in the hands of others…

Either way, a price cut could do nothing but help Sony at this point.

Yep. Well, aside from their profit margin.

No matter what, Sony’s loosing money on the PS3 right now, so they might as well draw as many people into buying the console as they can.
