Wii Sports Resort Rockin’ 1 Million Sold in the US Alone

Making hardcore games look bad, one sale at a time.

Making hardcore game sales look bad, one million at a time.

Well, we all thought that Wii Sports Resort selling a remarkable 500,000 units in the US was a big thing, now the game has sold over 1 million units in the US alone since it’s launch July 26th. To make it better, both Japan and Europe have recorded the game selling over 1 million units each. I guess people really want their action packed motion-control sports games.

“Millions of consumers worldwide have demonstrated that they want their summer vacations to keep going,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Wii Sports Resort provides both novice and veteran players a fun, virtual escape to a resort island with their friends and family – something that will be even more appealing as the weather turns cooler this fall and winter.”

To be honest, I still haven’t picked up the game due to my lack of money these-days, but I’m looking forward to it, as well as another post in a couple of weeks about how the game has sold 2 million in the US.
