If you have given up hope that the Final Fantasy VII remake will ever actually be produced, Square Enix’s Yoshi Kitase and Motomu Toriyama had some encouraging words that they spoke through their translator
“There’s no official project that’s up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, ‘If we did it it would be like this or like that.’”
While the remake most likely won’t hit any time soon soon, its bound to be made one day. They did encourage that players play the original game on PSN if you really want your Final Fantasy VII fix.
