SCEA Dev: “Tried to Convince Making ‘God of War III’ a First Person Shooter”
We all love the God of War series, the violence, the button-mashing combo-intensity mother fucking action! Well, what if the latest installment of the game, God of War III, turned out to be a first person shooter? You don’t think so? Well, Ken Feldmen, the SCEA Art Director talked about the development of the game, the most interesting fact is his trying to convince the director to make the game a First Person Shooter. Here’s official comment:
“I tried unsuccessfully to convince [Director] Stig to make ‘God of War III’ a first-person shooter. Kratos could have some truly badass huge weapons that rip gods to shreds. Unfortunately he didn’t see the genius in the idea.”
Granted the game would be different than it was in the past or as we know it, I’m not going to say that the idea of God of War being in a FPS format wouldn’t work, or it would be bad. I guess we’ll never know….or will we?

BAM! PSP Getting Firmware Update 6.10
The latest firmware update for the PSP, ver. 6.10, will be hitting your..umm….PSP soon. This update will set the stage for the release of the PSPgo, which will allow compatibility with MediaGo and all of the PSP titles. Some of the key features of this update are the SenseMe application, which will allow you to Sony’s 12-tone analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP. There will also be many Media Go enhancements, as well as a tethering system, where you can connect a Bluetooth device such as a phone with 3G capability to act as a modem to connect your PSP to the internet. Nintendo accidentally bricking Wiis with Firmware update 4.2
Nintendo’s 4.2 firmware update attempted remove the homebrew scene and rid of a popular pirating format, while doing so though they created a big problem. Wii owners who update their Wii to 4.2 no matter if their modded or not, are getting bricked. No one really knows why yet but apparently it creates an error. If you have already fallen prey to the update then head over to Nintendo’s customer service for details on how to fix your Wii. Otherwise it will probably be best if you hang back and wait for a fix til you update your Wii.

Darth Vader Sensor Bar

The official Star Wars Shop website has begun selling Darth Vader sensor bars for the Wii. The Darth Vader sensor bar will cost $49.99 and will arrive sometime in November. I personally would not spend $49.99 for something that looks like Darth Vader and does the same thing the sensor bar that came with my Wii does, but I know that some people would like this. So if you have a Wii, an extra $50, and really like Darth Vader then this is for you.

Tales of Graces TGS 09
Tales of Graces is yet another TGS straggler. Tales of Graces has two trailers, one focusing on gameplay and one focusing on Story. The story looks like it is a pretty standard issue JRPG set up. The gameplay on the other hand looks action packed and fun, hopefully there is enough different in this game to set it apart from the past titles. Tales of series has really had a hard time evolving though because they stick to a tried and true set up for each entry for the most part. I like to call it “Japan’s Madden”. You can check out the story trailer after the jump.

The Secret World delayed due to Funcom Layoffs
It looks like the tough economic times are hitting yet another great developer. This time it’s Funcom, most recently known for their work on their MMO, The Secret World. It has been posted by GameIndustry.biz, which reports that the company is looking at dropping about 20% of it’s employees.
While no release date was in place yet for the game, it really sucks that we have to wait longer for such an amazing looking game. Just by the art style (look above), we have high hopes for the game.
