Star Ocean: The Last Hope coming to PS3 in Japan next year

Star Ocean IV

Microsoft continually proves how deep it’s wallet is by buying exclusive games and content for their system. Sony some times gets lucky with some exclusive content, like the Joker DLC for Batman, but Microsoft is usually the one to snatch these up. Because of the lack of JRPG’s on the original X-box, it never took off in Japan. Microsoft made sure to change that with the 360 by buying exclusives and timed exclusives with almost every JRPG to hit HD consoles. Star Ocean: The Last Hope was one of these titles.

Currently only confirmed for Japan, Star Ocean: The Last Hope International version will be hitting both the X-box 360 and PS3. The new international version includes tweaks to the battle system, added content, and (the whole reason it is called International Version) English voice acting. There is a chance that this version may never make it outside of Japan, but PS3 owners who are desperate for some Star Ocean on their system can import the title. You could say there is a language barrier, but once you memorize the menus the English should be enough to get you through the game.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope International Version will be coming to PS3 and 360 February 4th 2010 in Japan. Let us just hope Japanese 360 fans don’t petition this title too.
