Monster Hunter 3 Rendered in 1080p

It looks like a NeoGAF user has taken it upon themselves to render the recently released Monster Hunger III on the Wii in both 1080p with no AA, and 1080p 8xAA. The game looks pretty amazing already, but when rendered in Hi-Def 1080p, you can see where the game, as well as many other games on the Wii, would benefit from such graphical enhancements.

  1. this game looks upscaled rather than rendered.

There is less colour and the screenshot is very blurred, this looks like a bad photoshop.

  2. Agreed with Jack. This is an upscale, not a render. In order to render it at 1080p the game must be capable of doing so on the native hardware while having the supported code within the software.

However, the anti aliasing inclusion is a really nice approximation of what substantial AA would provide to the picture. Sadly, I do not see a reason why we need to ‘guesstimate’ what a 1080p picture would look like on hardware ill designed to take advantage of it. A PS3 or 360 game can look fantastic not just because of the potential resolution gains but also due to effects and shaders provided by a far more robust graphic chips.
