Weekend Primed: 10 Beautiful Metroid Art Pieces
This week for the weekend primed, after skipping last week because I felt sick (and that’s an excuse), I’m coming back and was going to just post what I thought were 10 awe-inspiring and beautiful fan-art of people that obviously dig the Metroid franchise. This is actually just kind of my way to actually make a list that was way easy for me to do so that I didn’t have to put any effort into creating this list at all. Click the images to get the direct link to the authors webpage.
10) Pip Pip What?
I don’t even know what to say about this one, but it is awe-inspiring, granted it didn’t take much work to make or any talent. Actually, this picture is so bad that it probably took negative talent, so much of a lack of talent that this thing was born. And that is why I love it.
9) Zebes Cave
Okay, away from the sarcastic making-fun of the the first picture I posted, this art was done of Zebes Cave, and looks absolutely brilliant. I miss the lack of rough edges and british accents, but this is still by far one of my favorites on this list.
Samus Blasts a Metroid
You know Samus, and how this galactic bounty hunter likes to kick metroid’s ass and take names. Well this artwork from Vegasmike shows Samus blasting a metroid to pieces. Although I thought I was going to see motivational poster because of the borders, I was still not dissapointed.
7) Samus Aran Open Hatch
Next to the Zebes Cave fan art, this is also my favorite. Drawn to show the “insides” of Samus’s suit, it looks way badass. The detail, the texture, and the originality of it just looks awesome.
6) One Girl in All the World
I’m really diggin this one, how it goes from very light at the top of the image then gets darker and more daunting towards the bottom. The addition of the light in Samus’s armor as well as the detail makes this piece look very good.
5) Super Metroid Art
A very colorful art piece, this one is also very clean and very light and happy. Plus, it’s based off what could arguably be called the greatest Metroid game of all time, Super Metroid. We just wanna know what the metroid is doing to samus in her morph ball form…
4) Pinned by Ridley
This artwork was done by Cronoan and is the fourth piece in Metroid bosses series. It’s Ridley from Super Metroid, and we’d have to say that this piece looks absolutely stunning. The glowing in Samus’s hand is a power bomb in a last ditch effort to kick some Riddley ass.
3) Norfair Depths
Yet another picture from Ivan Flores, this one still a painting, but depicting Ridley and Samus like a lot of the other pictures. This piece has some high contrast, lost of drama, and pretty awesome. I’m actually starting to like this list….
2) Michelangelo and Metroid
As with every subject in the world there has to be a parody of one of Mihelangelo’s most famous works, the ceiling of the Sisting Chapel. The thing that really gets me is that Samus is still in her suit, and the metroids that are surrounding god. As the author says, this piece is full of awshumness.
1) Master Metroid, Redux
As I started this crappy but beautiful list, I am ending it with a metroid that has a monacle, a top hat, but this metroid also has a tie and a cane, and is super snazzy. Why did I do that? Because I saw it and wanted to be clever. Also, read the comments section by clicking on the image. Epic.
