New Modern Warfare 2 Video Controversial?
The latest footage of Modern Warfare 2 seems to be stirring up quiet the controversy. It is causing the Australian Council on Children and the Media wants the Australian Classification Board to rethink the MA 15+ rating that the game is currently getting, and is also the highest rating that a game could get in a country.
They are currently saying that:
“The consequences of terrorism are just abhorrent in our community and yet here we are with a product that’s meant to be passed off as a leisure time activity, actually promoting what most world leaders speak out publicly against,” said president of the Australian Council on Children and the Media.
Then Activision commented on the situation as:
““designed to evoke the atrocities of terrorism,” not to “promote” it as Roberts put it.”
I don’t know how this is going to go over with the Classification Board. I mean, movies and other forms of media re-enact and depict worse things than are being shown and interacted with in Modern Warfare 2. This game, I think, should be the least of their concerns.
