Gears of War 3 “RAAM’s Shadow” Coming December

Gears 3 Raam

Following the announcement of a solid multiplayer DLC pack “Horde Command,” Gears of War 3 (our review) will be getting some single player love. Microsoft released a press release this morning giving us details on the upcoming DLC “RAAM’s Shadow.”

Set to release on December 13 “RAAM’s Shadow” will actually be a prequel to the first Gears of War game, staring Zeta Squad who will be facing off against General RAAM in an attempt to evacuate Illima City after Emergence Day takes place. The main Gears crew has been tagged out for this journey, instead we get a new crew taking on the Locust; Michael Barrick (ripped from the Gears of War comic books), Lt. Kim from Gears 1, Tai Kaliso from Gears 2, and a new character Alicia Valera.

The big addition though is that you’ll actually get to play as General RAAM himself.

“RAAM’s imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the ‘Gears’ universe,” said design director Cliff Bleszinski in the announcement. “We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting.”

“RAAM’s Shadow” boasts an estimated three hours of campaign content, six multiplayer characters, the “chocolate” weapon set, and an additional 250 achievement points. The pack will retail for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) and will be free if you’re a season pass owner.

If you can think of a major gaming console, he has it. If you can think of a game, there's a good chance he's played it. He started a gaming website back in 2010 called Gamerzitch, left that to work at The Gamer Studio, and has now found a new home as news writer and host of the Primecast at Default Prime.
