Obsidian Entertainment has let go approximately 20 to 3o employees from their company today. The full range of layoffs is not entirely sure as of now, but a tipster told Joystiq:
Approximately 20-30 people from all disciplines, including one person who started yesterday, as well as one who started last week.
Due to this new round of layoffs, Obsidian has cancelled a next-generation project and in addition, many members on the staff for the recently announced South Park RPG were affected. The future of that game has not been announced.
Employees kept on by Obsidian have offered their condolences and words of encouragement through Twitter, Google+, and the Obsidian forums. The forums are full of posts of both past and current employees discussing the events that unfolded.
