Review | Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention

02

Disgaea is not your typical role-playing game franchise. Not as popular as Final Fantasy in the East or The Elder Scrolls in the West, Nippon Ichi Software’s Disgaea series still manages to hold a strong cult following due to its quirky anime characters, dark satirical story lines and incredibly addictive and challenging gameplay. In 2008, NIS America brought the third game in the franchise to the PS3 in the form of Absence of Justice, and followed it up incrementally with DLC episodes. Now, NIS America not only brings the PS3 title to the Vita with a new subtitle of Absence of Detention, but includes all post-game content for free.

Born and raised in Denver, CO in 1979, I've been playing games since I was old enough to hold a controller. I was weened on Atari, then Nintendo and Sega, and currently own just about every console and handheld made. I'm an avid hip hop fan and I love to read books. Favorite authors include Dean Koontz, Stephen Hunter, and Christopher Moore. I'm also an avid movie watcher and I try to collect as many Blu-Rays as I can.
