Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation will be the first AC game to debut on the PlayStation Vita and it will also feature the first lead female assassin of the franchise. Liberation is set for a side-by-side release to Assassin’s Creed III on October 30, 2012. Ubisoft Sofia is developing this installment of the series which follows the mixed heritage assassin, Aveline, through many different geographic areas throughout the late 18th century. Liberation will feature multiplayer “specifically tailored to the Vita experience.”
Aveline’s mentor is an assassin named Agate, leader of the assassins within New Orleans. Like all Assassin’s Creed games, players will be able to explore a large area with no loading screens – in this case that area is New Orleans. Although based out of New Orleans, Aveline will venture over the border into Mexico for portions of the game.
Aveline’s story will not connect to Desmond’s main story that is woven through all of the other Assassin’s Creed titles. More information on Liberation should come out during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference Monday at 3pm.
Lucas has evolved in his video game preferences. With a foundation in predominantly sports game, action adventure games are now his favorite to play. He is a competitive swimmer and likes to play volleyball, basketball, and golf.
