If you’re unfamiliar with Xbox Live Rewards, it’s a type of service that Xbox Live users can participate in to get some free MS Points. I’ve messed around with it here and there in the past, but stopped worrying about it because I realized that I didn’t buy enough stuff on Xbox Live to warrant receiving free points. Now though, or at least this coming Fall, you could receive a reward of some kind based on your achievements. The announcement itself comes from the Twitter account of Xbox Live Rewards due to them having hit 50,000 followers.
Details haven’t been given yet regarding what kind of rewards, but it may be safe to assume anything from MS Points to avatar items or a couple free days of XBL Gold.
Would being rewarded for acquiring achievements entice you to spend more time collecting them? How about the harder the achievement the more valuable the reward?
Kyree didn't have an N64 or Dreamcast as a kid (so sad) and he doesn't remember finishing any of his PlayStation games, but skip to the PS2/GC/Xbox era and everything changed. He hasn't been outside to play tag in forever, but he can recall playing way too much Smash Bros. and even more Kingdom Hearts; seriously, he can recite lines from it. I think he may have a problem.
