Thatgamecompany Comes to Retail with Journey Collector’s Edition

Just what exactly is at the top of the mountain? it's an enigmatic emblem from the start of the game and serves as a constant reminder of why the player is crossing the desert in the first place.

Been hearing about the phenomenal indie game Journey, but lack a way to connect on the internet or using your friend’s PS3?  Well good news!  Thatgamecompany announced today that a retail version  of their smash hit Journey is coming to stores on August 28th in the form of Journey Collector’s Edition for $29.99.

But wait, you find yourself asking.  Journey is only a $15 game.  Where’s the rest of my money going?  Well, also included on the disc are thatgamecompany’s two other games, Flow and Flower, also available for the first time on blu-ray.  But wait there’s more!  You also get a bunch of behind the scenes footage along with play-through commentary, soundtracks for all three games, reversable cover art, and even a free month of PlayStation Plus.  Also included are three smaller games thatgamecompany developed during a 24-hour indie game jam.

All in all, its looking to be a fantastic release for both new players and players who have already fallen in love with the world of Journey.  They honestly might as well have called this the “Thatgamecompany Collection” for being such a complete package.
