Alas, it would seem that some people’s desire to see E3 change locations has been dashed, as the ESA has not only confirmed that E3 will be in LA until 2015, but the dates in which E3 2013 will run.
In a press release that can be found here, next year’s E3 has been confirmed to run from June 11th to June 13th. The Event will not be open to the public and will continue to only remain accessible to ESA Members and people that are a part of the press.
“We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA,” said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA. “Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace and there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.”
Plans are in the making to expand the LA Convention Center alongside the development of a new Farmer’s Field, so maybe E3 2013 will be able to hold a few more people next year.
I’d still like to see E3 in another location though. I’m way over in New Jersey, so LA is far for me.
Kyree didn't have an N64 or Dreamcast as a kid (so sad) and he doesn't remember finishing any of his PlayStation games, but skip to the PS2/GC/Xbox era and everything changed. He hasn't been outside to play tag in forever, but he can recall playing way too much Smash Bros. and even more Kingdom Hearts; seriously, he can recite lines from it. I think he may have a problem.
