Sony’s Playstation All Stars certainly has my full attention. The so called “Smash Clone for Sony” has been slowly been revealing characters since E3 with the latest being Heihachi (Tekken) and Toro (that white cat mascot) that were announced at Evo 2012. It seems that some nosy gamers have been snooping around the data files of All Stars and have found some interesting files that may be hinting at playable characters and stages. These files were accessed during the private beta but still aren’t official so take the following list with a grain of salt:
Atomizer (Resistance 3)
Baumusu Axe (The Mark of Kri)
Boots of Hermes (God of War III)
Freeze Missile (Twisted Metal)
Golf Club (Hot Shots Golf)
Gravity Shield (Wipeout)
Hedgehog Grenade (Resistance)
Dohvat Laser Designator (Killzone 3)
Leech Beem (Wipeout)
Murder of Crows (Bioshock Infinite)
Railgun (Metal Gear Solid 4)
Razor Claws (Ratchet and Clank)
Scythe (Fat Princess)
Spear (God of War)
Sonic Rift (ModNation Racers)
Sackbot (Little Big Planet)
Support Characters (Minions)
Captain Qwark (Ratchet & Clank)
Kai (Heavenly Sword)
Kat (Devil May Cry)
Monkey (Ape Escape)
Nix (InFamous 2)
Pierre (Doko Demo Issho)
Sam (Metal Gear Rising)
Gold Stars Collected
King of the Hill
Capture the Flag
(Insane AI), (Hard AI), (Normal AI), (Easy AI)
Kills are worth +2 Score and Deaths are worth -1
Great Mighty Scythe
Quick Match Game
Max Supers Kills
It is also interesting to note that David Hayter had been working with other voice actors Eric Ladin and Nolan North on the same game despite Snake not appearing in the data files or any announcements. This leads me to believe that Snake will appear in a cutscene that features Raiden, Snake as a support character or Sony being very devilish and having him as paid DLC post release.
A public beta of the game will be available via PSN this coming season allowing players to take control of either Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, or the Fat Princess in four different stages (Dreamscape, Metropolis, Sandover Village, and Hades). I have a feeling that Playstation Plus users will be the target demographic for this public beta as it will certainly make the membership much more appealing for gaming advocates but don’t fret freeloaders the Playstation Plus users will only be getting an early access before being fully public.
The next big reveal for this highly anticipated game will be at GamesCom happening later this month.
