All eyes are on SONY as we come up to the destined day of 02.20.13. Will it be the official announcement of SONY’s next generation system the PS4? Well the whole internet certainly thinks so and so does my fellow cast members on the Primecast. But I’m a skeptic and am not completely sold on SONY announcing their new system just yet as there is still some life left in the PS3 which SONY is adamant on extracting. This is a list of possible announcements that SONY will make this Wednesday.
PlayStation Home finally leaves Beta
Let’s be frank here. The PlayStation Home is a mess. Admittedly it’s a Free Mess but you can’t really consider having Second Life on your console a good thing (unless you like virtual bowling). But I think thing’s are going to change this Wednesday when Home finally gets a release and breaks free from the open beta status that it has been burdened with since 2008. I have visited Home a few times; once because I got my hands on a PS3 so tried out all the features and the second was so I could write an article on the service. Neither visits lasted more than 15 minutes as unfriendly inhabitants ignored me, plazas were filled with translucent ghost people and the loading. OH THE LOADING! Hopefully Wednesday will clear this bad taste that Home had left and give us the proper PlayStation Home we deserve.
PlayStation Vita Lite
SONY’s response to the 3DS XL. They want to make it bigger, well we’re making our system smaller because it is called “Portable gaming” guys! The PlayStation Vita has enjoyed some success in it’s software library with Uncharted, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom, Gravity Rush and the ability to play classic PlayStation titles but in the year 2013 it seems to be running low on games. Which is why it would be the perfect opportunity to release a new slimmer PlayStation Vita. It would be the same system but cannot play the Vita game cards making the PlayStation Store more appealing to customers to use. Also they will cost more in the online store since it’s the only place they will be able to buy games. Genius!
Life with PlayStation gets Revived
Honestly I have no idea how to use Life with PlayStation and only used it three times but now that it is gone I kinda want it back. SONY why did you get rid of Life with PlayStation? It had so much potential. Like seeing the amount of PlayStation’s being used in Nigeria and Uruguay or checking the weather. It was a service I often wondered how could I live with it but now, all I wonder is how could I have lived without it. Please bring it back SONY!
PlayStation Vita becomes a Phone or PhoneStation Vita
After PrimeCast 45, David’s words about the PlayStation Vita should be a phone finally sunk in. After all they did partner up with AT&T and the touch screen back is kinda stupid. So remove that stupid touch screen, add a microphone, speaker and a few digits and we have the PhoneStation Vita. We live in an age where carrying a phone, wallet and keys are a burden, why would a modern man like myself carry a console when my phone already plays Snake and Space Impact? Get your head in the game SONY. Allow me to play as Drake whilst talking to my mother about casseroles and simultaneously tweet about how my buddy Drake hates casseroles.
Mandatory Paid Online Service
SONY got a new store re-design. It’s slick, convenient to find games or movies and a big improvement over the previous iteration. But it’s still not as popular as the Xbox Live Marketplace. Why? Because it’s a free service. If you allow me to pay just to go online on top of my Internet bill, I would know that the extra money I’m spending on games would be worth it. How about adverts? I say pile them on! I spend roughly 5 hours a day surfing the internet with ad blocker on, so I’m completely unaware of the latest movies and albums that are coming out. Paying to have a handy pop up tell me that they are out will allow my brain to keep up with these things and make me more of a modern urban cool brah that I so desperately strive to become.

No not the James’ Cameron movie you idiots (although that would be cool), I mean little characters that look like us. Nintendo and Microsoft have them so why can’t us PlayStation users? I’m kind of offended that SONY doesn’t have these mandatory electronic representatives in this day of age. Its almost as bad as Microsoft hiding games on their online store.

I seriously doubt sony would redesign the Vita to make it a download only game. Did you not realize what made PSP-GO such a failure? yea download only. If they're going to resign vita it'll definitely be smaller and cheaper but still able to read game cards.
The Avatar idea is cool but they need to come up with a new name for name, they already have avatars listed for our trophy cards albeit limited. i'd only pay the PSN yearly if it was 24 a year $2 a month. But in the end i don't really care what they announce as sony has never been good at keeping secrets and have always been leaked. So it's likely PS4 with that redesign controller so move on from the speculation as you all going to be disappointed.
