May was a good month for PSN titles as episode 1 of TellTale’s The Walking Dead took the number one spot on the charts; and for good reason. Interesting gameplay, a good story and characters you may actually give a crap about are what can propel any good game to the top. Not following too far behind is Journey, a game that’s already broken records since its release due to its new take on multiplayer and is a title that emphasizes the fact that it’s never about the destination, but the journey there.
Finally, there was PixelJunk Shooter. And the huge reason for why this game took 3rd on the charts could be attributed to the huge deals PSN had on the PixelJunk titles last month and the PixelJunk 4am Beta that started earlier in the month. In fact, PixelJunk titles took the 3rd, 10th, 11th and 13th spots on the list.
The PlayStation Blog goes into more detail about what other games topped the charts last month, as well as the top Vita games, PS3 add-ons and PS2 Classics; Max Payne takes the top spot there. Probably because of Max Payne 3.
By the way, if you haven’t played The Walking Dead yet, you should probably get on that soon. Seeing as how episode 2 is due out sometime this month…hopefully.
Kyree didn't have an N64 or Dreamcast as a kid (so sad) and he doesn't remember finishing any of his PlayStation games, but skip to the PS2/GC/Xbox era and everything changed. He hasn't been outside to play tag in forever, but he can recall playing way too much Smash Bros. and even more Kingdom Hearts; seriously, he can recite lines from it. I think he may have a problem.
