Review | Sniper Elite V2 (Wii U)

Sniper Elite V2 is a sequel to developer Rebellion’s 2005 tactical third-person shooter. Released last year on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Sniper Elite V2 has now made its way to the Nintendo Wii U. Set in the World War II era, you play as an American sniper fighting Germans and Russians. The Wii U version makes use of the gamepad to display a map and manage equipment in real time but unfortunately, none of the online components have survived the translation. It’s nearing the end of World War II. The Germans are desperate to win the war, so they devise a new weapon called the V2 Rocket. Filled with V2 nerve gas which shuts down the body’s systems in horrible fashions, these rockets become an extremely deadly weapon. The only weapon more deadly is an American sniper. You are dropped behind enemy lines tasked with finding the rocket, destroying it and killing anyone involved in its launch. You won’t be fighting alongside anyone else, so you’ll have to put your trust in the only two allies you have: your rifle and distance.

Born and raised in Denver, CO in 1979, I've been playing games since I was old enough to hold a controller. I was weened on Atari, then Nintendo and Sega, and currently own just about every console and handheld made. I'm an avid hip hop fan and I love to read books. Favorite authors include Dean Koontz, Stephen Hunter, and Christopher Moore. I'm also an avid movie watcher and I try to collect as many Blu-Rays as I can.
