Guilty Gear 2: Overture Announced
Not enough Guilty Gear action for you on every other console and platform ever created? Well, you will be pleased to hear that 505 games is going to grace the Xbox 360 exclusively with their next game in the series called Guilty Gear 2: Overture. The latest in the popular series launches on 4th September 2009 and will take fans in a bold new direction, borrowing elements from genres outside of the traditional one-on-one fighting action that the series is so well-known and loved for.
Arc System Works is developing the game and are blending action and real time strategy, as well as 3D graphics for the first time to make Guilty Gear: Overture an installment in the series unlike any other. As well as taking control of their chosen character, players will command legions of loyal followers to crush all in their path. Battles are won and lost by destruction of opponents’ strongholds, known as ‘Masterghosts’ and by successfully defending one’s own from enemy attack. Effective and tactical use of support troops, or ‘servants’, to achieve these aims as well as sharp fighting technique are the keys to victory.
I’ve only played a couple of the Guilty Gear games before, but from everything that’s being said about it, this one sounds like a new experience, and one definitely worth picking up.
Skate 2 ‘Maloof Money Cup Pack’ available on July 9
Electronic Arts has just announced that you can download the “Maloof Money Cup Pack” for Skate 2 on July 2nd. If you don’t know what the Maloof Money Cup is, it is put on by the Maloof brothers, who come from the family that own the Sacremento Kings NBA Franchise, the Palms hotel and resort in Las Vegas. This contest is one of the biggest in skateboarding, offering up over $450,000 to the various winners.
You can play the DLC both online and off-line, and on the 360 it brings another 250 possible achievements to unlock.
The DLC is available to both PS3 and 360 owners, and of course it wont be free, so it’s gonna cost you $3 for the PS3, and 250 MS points for the 360.
Pachter: Wii HD could ’seriously damage’ PS3 comeback
There have been a lot of stories floating around about how people in the industry, more specifically, analysts, telling about how Pachter the PS3 might pass the 360 in 6 years time, so on, and so forth. Now, we’ve got another statement from Pachter about how if Nintendo made a hi-def Wii, how it could fuck-up Sony’s chances about the PS3 making a comeback.
“In our view, if Nintendo can offer such a device by year-end 2010, it will be in a position to seriously damage Sony’s chances of a comeback this cycle,” claims the report. “We would expect publishers to support such a move, given that the cost of porting an Xbox 360 game to the new Wii Plus HD format would likely be lower than the cost of building a ground up Wii game (we estimate under $5 million).
“Should Nintendo be able to convince publishers like EA and Take-Two that the Wii Plus should be supported by the entire EA Sports catalog and by the next installment of Grand Theft Auto, it should be in a position to successfully convince consumers that the Wii Plus is the last console they will ever need to purchase.”
Honestly, I agree with him. If the Wii is doing this good right now, and Nintendo plans to make a Wii HD at a semi-low price, it could seriously screw up any of Sony’s plans for a PS3 comeback.

BIART officially announce ambitious next gen project “U-WARS”
Russian developer BIART has just announced their latest and greatest next-generation game. The title, “U-WARS”, is coming out on the Xbox 360, PC, and PSP. The game was started in development at the end of 2007, and is planned for release mid-2010.
“U-Wars” is a tactical sci-fi third person shooter set up an ultra realistic subaqueous scenario. Combining the thrill of an undersea setting with a cinematic approach and a superior story line “U-Wars” is the first lifelike underwater action experience.
In “U-Wars” the player will take control of an elite force and is constrained to accomplish covert operations both on land and undersea. As the PC version is supporting the NVIDIA PhysX technology the XBOX users will enjoy a variety of multiplayer modes via XBOX Live.
This sounds like a great action experience, and one the likes of which I have never heard of before. The games been in development for a pretty long time, and I think I’ll have to pick it up and see how it plays-out.
Here’s a gameplay video of the game at the KRI expo with english subtitles:
You can check out the official website for more information regarding the title.
Default Prime is HUGE! 100 Subscribers, Stats, and More
Well, we’re not huge, but it is an accomplishment of sorts. That means, in a little over a week, we jumped an amazing 82 subscribers. I guess that this isn’t really big news as it’s not that many people, but for only being around this long, and in one week, that’s not bad.

New Playstation Survey Going Out
It looks like Sony is looking for a little feedback. The survey asks how many times have you visited HOME since it’s public beta launch last year. It also asks questions about the awareness of all of the features that HOME uses, how frequently you use game launching if you even know about it.
My answers to these would be (even though I don’t own a PS3):
1) Nobody uses HOME
2) Wait, you can do something other than dance in a huge line!?
3) The PS3 has games!? (okay, that was too fanboyish, getting rid of it)
