Final Fantasy XIII is on the bottom of Ray Muzyka’s “to-play” list

2043.8877.0247.BioWare.jpg 610x0 Final Fantasy XIII is on the bottom of Ray Muzykas to play listI’m going to go out and say that I don’t own nor have I even touched Final Fantasy XIII yet. I’m a huge RPG fan and a big fan of the series, but just because of my lack of time and moolah, I can’t afford to get it. It’s also…not something that I’m really looking forward to. Just from reviews and what people have personally told me, well I’ve just lost a lot of excitement.

It looks like Ray Muzyka, one of the head honcho’s over at BioWare is pretty not-so-interested in the game as well, expressing this in a Game Informer interview.

“I’ve been reading some reviews on that one. That may be on the bottom of my list right now”

“It’s kind of a question mark. It would have been right up there before I read about it, but some of this other stuff is probably more pressing.”

I can totally see where he’s coming from on it. Although it will be really interesting to see what he has to say once he’s got around to playing the game (although I’m not sure that he has that many pressing things to do).

Insomniac Games gives us a response to the “going multiplatform” rumors

resistance oh well Insomniac Games gives us a response to the going multiplatform rumors

It was just yesterday that IGN was spreading the rumor from a “trusted source” that Insomniac Games would be going multiplatform with their future games. Yeah, that rumor that seems to recycle itself every couple months only to get shut down.

Insomniac Games community manager, Jstevenson made a nice little post at NeoGAF pretty much putting the cap on everything.

“Well guys, Ted has spoken so you have that.

But c’mon, didn’t we just deal with this rumor like two months ago? And a few months before that? And so on?”

So I guess that’s that, or at least until another major gaming site puts the rumor out there from a “trusted source”, and we go through the same shit again.

Suda 51 thinking about reiterations of Michigan and Killer 7

Suda 51 Killer 7 thumb 550x382 16940 Suda 51 thinking about reiterations of Michigan and Killer 7WHAT’S THAT!? Yeah, news that is about shake your trousers! Suda Goichi, in a recent interview with Electronic Theater, has expressed an interest in revisiting both Michigan: Report From Hell and Killer 7. Please, nobody say anything to make this man mad or he might revoke this.

“… I think that it would be very interesting to create something like Michigan again in the future — it could be really good,” says Suda. “I still talk to Sakurai-san, who is the president of Spike Games which was the publisher of Michigan. They’re also interested in making a game like that again in the future.”

I don’t know about playing through a viewfinder of the camera, but Killer 7 was one of the craziest and most inventive games last generation, so let’s do it! There have been lots of rumors about a Wii version, so lets see if we see any news in the coming months…

Netflix has a question on a survey about it’s service…on the DS!?

netflix 585x200 Netflix has a question on a survey about its service...on the DS!?A poll from Netflix has a very odd question that points towards maybe it’s service expanding to the Nintendo DS, or just some thought into the prospect. Don’t believe me and can’t read the image above? Here’s exactly what the question says:

Imagine that Netflix offers its subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies and & TV episodes on their Nintendo DS. The selection available to instantly watch includes some new releases, lots of classics and TV episodes. There are no advertisements or trailers, and movies start in as little as 30 seconds. You can fast-forward, rewind, and pause or watch again. The movies & TV episodes you instantly watch are included in your Netflix membership at no additional fee.

So the service that’s on almost all platforms about now, just bite-sized. What do you guys think? I can’t imagine that they’d be able to get the whole thing running in a way that would allow videos to be streamed in a non-choppy manner, let alone at a high enough quality for people to be satisfied. I must say though, it would be damn cool if they could do it, and I would be more than stoked to hear them doing something of the sort.

Valve perhaps having an announcement for Mac’s? We’re thinking so…

03 and i m a pc 585x390 Valve perhaps having an announcement for Macs? Were thinking so...It’s been much talked about that Valve will be working on the Mac’s, with perhaps their Steam download client, or I’m sure Mac users will just settle with being able to play their games. Well it looks like a Valve developer is dropping some not-so-subtle hints.

The hints happen to come in the form of images which have some of their most popular games and franchises in some very familiar poses and settings. I mean common, “I’m a PC”, Gordan Freeman in his HEV suit colored like a MAC, “I hate different”, and the Heavy with his “Sandvich” in a strikingly similar pose.

Rock Paper Shotgun also recently got an image sent to them that says “Steam for the rest of us”. It looks like it’s all adding up now.

Paradox Interactive announces lineup for GDC ‘10

180px paradox interactive logo Paradox Interactive announces lineup for GDC 10It looks like Paradox Interactive, most recently known for their work on the Mount & Blade series as well as East India Company, have released their lineup for GDC 2010. Obviously as you guessed there will be some more Mount & Blade, an old west game called Lead and Gold, Magicka, Lionheart: King’s Crusade, and Ship Simulator Extremes (sounds pretty awesome, right?).

Mount & Blade: Warband
Mount & Blade: Warband, the multiplayer sequel to the original Mount & Blade, will enable up to 64 players to fight for glory on a single map in team deathmatch style battles. Mount & Blade: Warband will be available in the US and via digital distribution on March 30th, 2010.

Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West
The exciting team-based multiplayer action of the Old West will soon hit consoles in the highly anticipated third-person shooter set for release late Q1 2010 from developer Fatshark. Get your guns locked and loaded with the chance to try out your shooting skills for yourself.

Magicka
A humorous action-adventure title based on Norse mythology, Magicka will transport players into a fantasy environment where four brave souls will be called upon to take on..well, you know the deal. Being developed by Arrowhead Game Studios for multiple platforms and will be released in Q2 2010, Magicka will offer players millions of spellcasting combinations in a parody and satire of a clichéd fantasy world.

Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade
Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade will pit players between the years of 1189-1192, calling upon warriors to enter the heart of the battle in one of the most vicious wars of all time. Players will have the opportunity to take on this challenge as either Richard the Lionheart or the Saracen commander Saladin when the game is released in Q3 2010.

Ship Simulator Extremes
Additionally, Paradox will showcase Ship Simulator Extremes, the upcoming ship simulator from developer Vstep. The title will feature a wide variety of ocean vessels to navigate ultra-realistic weather conditions and environments in an adventure on the open seas. Ship Simulator Extremes is scheduled for release in Q2 2010.

Valve actually thinking about developing on the PS3? Wait! They’re “sure” of it!?

gm construct0009 1 585x438 Valve actually thinking about developing on the PS3? Wait! Theyre sure of it!?

Valve aren’t the best at developing on the PS3, and when we say that, we mean that they don’t develop on the PS3 (we’re not counting the Orange Box because that was absolute shit). They are also notorious for making comments confirming their non-developing on the system. Well now Chet Faliszek at the company has come out with a statement that makes some of us think that they have something up their sleeve for the PS3. If not, then they might at least port a game onto the console.

“Before we do anything on the PS3 we need to be able to support it in the right way,” explains the Left 4 Dead writer. “But we’ll look at it, and I’m sure down the road we’ll do it.”

They’re “sure” they’ll do it. Okay, I want to see it Valve. I really do. I’m actually starting to feel sorry for PS3 owners who haven’t got to play Left 4 Dead yet, please just let the torment stop already…
