Apple introduces the iPad, we’ve got details
We all knew it was coming in some form or another, a huge, decked out version of the iPod touch and iPhone, and here it is. Apple has officially unveiled the iPad, that has all of the features of the iPhone, but can also be used as a laptop. It is said that this will completely bridge the gap between the smartphone and the laptop (unless you have huge fingers and can’t use the keyboard worth a shit).
Anyhow, I really like the idea, but essentially it’s a bigger iPhone. Just more real estate to surf the web, and do all of that. Plus there are other laptops that have accelerometers in them, have touch screens, have a full keyboard, and are small (just not as), so what really sets this apart? That discussion will be for an editorial of another day.
Kotaku has all of the details of the device, and it’s going to cost a pretty penny obviously, especially if you want to add some 3G to that package. You can check those out below this.
Go Apple, you’re innovative. And stuff.
Pricing
WiFi only models are:
$499 – 16GB
$599 – 32GB
$699 – 64 GB
3G models are:
$629 – 16GB
$729 – 32GB
$829 – 64 GB
Online plans are$14.99 for up to 250 MB of data per month or $29.99 for Unlimited data.

Default Prime with a facelift
That’s how I feel about the website, except we’re awesome so that’s not exactly how it is.
What is however, is the new theme that I have put up on the website. I’ve been thinking about revamping the site for awhile, and I found the old theme rather clunky, slow, and kind of a mess sometimes. So here we are.
There’s now a bigger more beautiful logo, some cool little navigation, and it’s all in a very readable style. It’s a modification of an Elegant Themes template, so thanks to them for not making me do more work than I have to!
I will be updating the template constantly throughout the week though, I plan on changing the typograhy, adding four widgetized areas in the footer, and maybe something else here and there. But here we are. Updates man, updates.
Also, did you know that since October 1st Default Prime has been around, and it’s December 20th which makes it over a year. Whoopy-doo. We haven’t done bad for a first year site, some nice organic traffic coming in, excellent authors (Mike and Oculin!), and even more sarcastic and bad-ass since we started.
In conclusion, this post that was originally going to be two or three sentences has been drug out forever, so now I am going to end it. Long live DPrime!

Announcement trailer for Medal of Honor Released
First the new Medal of Honor game, that is going to be set in Afghanistan in the modern times, was announced, and now we’ve got an announcement trailer for the game. You should check it out because although I was bashing it for jumping on the “modern warfare” bandwagon, the game looks pretty damn sick. I mean, exploding people, exploding people, people getting shot… what more do you need? Now all I want to know is if the game is going to be taking place in the real world (non-fiction that is).

The last and “official” Final Fantasy XIII Trailer Released
It looks like Square Enix has released the FINAL trailer for the upcoming and very highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII. Showed above, the trailer showcases some footage that we haven’t seen of the game before, and is really setting the game up for the 3 weeks until it’s launch in Japan. There is some content that was shown in some of the older trailers is in here, but almost all of it is new (and exciting).

Wii price drop confirmed for Sept. 27 to $199.99
It looks after all of the price drops from Sony and Microsoft for both of their consoles, Nintendo has come out and officially announced the price drop for their Wii. The price drop will happen on September 27th, and the price will drop from $249.99 to $199.99, so a $50 drop. Everything is still included in the package, and it’s not too bad if you ask me.
“Wii has reached more video game players than any game system before because it attracts everyone—both men and women, and people of all ages,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Our research shows there are 50 million Americans thinking about becoming gamers, and this more affordable price point and our vast array of new software mean many of them can now make the leap and find experiences that appeal to them, whatever their tastes or level of gaming experience.”
Coming just in time for the holiday season, between the Wii price drop, and games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, and other titles, it looks to be a big year for Nintendo as well as all of the other companies indeed.

Halo is Everywhere with the Announcement of the upcoming Halo Anime Series
It looks like where going to have another thing Halo on our hands: an anime series based around the series. The series is going to be a collaboration between the best of the best anime and story writers, as well as anime creators and directors. The show is set hundreds of years in the future. You apparently didn’t do that good of a job getting rid of the bad guys, as the Covenant scouring the universe for relics it believes will lead it to a new life and is destroying civilizations and planets that stand in its way. Who will the series star than the great spartan Master Chief.
“Halo Legends,” which will officially debut at a panel presentation today at Comic-Con International in San Diego, is being produced by Microsoft’s 343 Industries and features creative direction from anime pioneer Shinji Aramaki, director of the critically acclaimed “Appleseed” and “Appleseed EX Machina” anime features, and Mamoru Oshii, director of the landmark “Ghost in the Shell” movies, with additional production from Joseph Chou of J-Spec Pictures. The compilation will include a series of short stories that explore different times, themes and characters from the “Halo” universe and will be distributed globally by Warner Home Video, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. company. Influential studios that are part of the project include the creators behind some of the most popular and celebrated anime to come from Japan, such as “The Animatrix,” “Cowboy Bebop,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Ghost in the Shell,” “Dragon Ball” and more.
Read More“The opportunity to work with talents such as Shinji Aramaki, Mamoru Oshii and others from some of the greatest anime studios is a very rare opportunity for Microsoft,” said Frank O’Connor, “Halo” franchise development director and provider of story and creative direction for 343 Industries. “We’ve seen the world through Master Chief’s eyes, and we’ve experienced facets of the universe through a variety of literary prisms, but now we get to watch new tales unfold in really rich, visually dynamic ways. I think anime fans and ‘Halo’ fans alike are in for a real treat.”
“‘Halo’ and its characters are a very natural fit for anime,” said Aramaki, creative director for the “Halo Legends” project. “As a fan of the ‘Halo’ universe, it is an honor to work with Microsoft and my very talented peers from other studios to create this collection.”

New competitive multiplayer maps for “Halo 3: ODST” revealed
As if Halo 3: ODST couldn’t get any better with a completely new campaign, a new cooperative multiplayer experience called Firefight, the complete “Halo 3” multiplayer experience on a standalone disc, and new competitive multiplayer maps for “Halo 3” , you wouldn’t think that there would be anything left to add. Microsoft and Bungie today revealed the remaining three multiplayer maps which are sure to get fans around the world excited.
The three new “Halo 3: ODST” maps are Heretic, Citadel and Longshore:
· Heretic returns players to familiar ground as the “Halo 2” arena Midship makes its long-rumored debut in “Halo 3.” The stark interior of the Pious Inquisitor might appear austere on first glance, but Heretic’s symmetrical spaces require players to execute complex strategies in order to outplay their opponents.
· Citadel may be a long abandoned Forerunner stronghold, but its small, symmetrical confines are far from secure. Two opposing bases offer little safety for players looking for solace. Instead, Citadel forces small squads to stay in constant communication, keep their heads on a swivel, and be prepared to adjust combat tactics in close quarters.
· Longshore lacks the commercial ships that once made it a lucrative port for Old Mombasa, but it still bustles with activity. Designed for large scale combat and well suited for smaller affairs, Longshore’s multitude of industrial buildings, elevated walks, and open inlets conspire to create a complex battleground tailored for multiple combat scenarios.
