Netflix has a question on a survey about it’s service…on the DS!?
A poll from Netflix has a very odd question that points towards maybe it’s service expanding to the Nintendo DS, or just some thought into the prospect. Don’t believe me and can’t read the image above? Here’s exactly what the question says:
Imagine that Netflix offers its subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies and & TV episodes on their Nintendo DS. The selection available to instantly watch includes some new releases, lots of classics and TV episodes. There are no advertisements or trailers, and movies start in as little as 30 seconds. You can fast-forward, rewind, and pause or watch again. The movies & TV episodes you instantly watch are included in your Netflix membership at no additional fee.
So the service that’s on almost all platforms about now, just bite-sized. What do you guys think? I can’t imagine that they’d be able to get the whole thing running in a way that would allow videos to be streamed in a non-choppy manner, let alone at a high enough quality for people to be satisfied. I must say though, it would be damn cool if they could do it, and I would be more than stoked to hear them doing something of the sort.

Nintendo Downloads for the Week of 3/8/10
It looks like this week for downloads across Nintendo platforms is offering a little dose of fantasy for all of those who would like to indulge themselves in it. Max & the Magic Marker imagines if your own artistic creation turned against you, there’s some Final Fantasy 2, which has fantasy in the title so that automatically makes the list, and them some Dracula hitting both the DSiWare and WiiWare. I’m also going to start rating weeks based on releases. So this week we’re giving them an:

New Nintendo patent suggests a DS cartridge redesign, I say that cartridge looks damn ugly
Look above: that’s a picture of the new patent that Nintendo has filed for a new cartridge design, in what seems like a DS (some say it’s the successor, I doubt it).
You can click the link over to SiliconEra and see more pictures of the thing, but it’s pretty much an extended cartridge with an uplifted portion at the top. Now I guess this could be used for games that need more memory, processing power, I don’t know. Oh how the big N keeps us speculating…

Nintendo Power Reveals that Scribblenauts 2 will be due out this Fall
Scribblenauts was a pretty big hit on the DS. With tons of words that you could choose from and summon, and some really cool levels and cool ways to get through those levels. It had it’s faults here and there, but it really was a revolutionary game.
Well, as you can see above, the latest issue of Nintendo Power has Scribblenauts’ main character, Maxwell, gracing the cover. We learn that the game will add more than 10,000 words, over 120 new levels, a level editing system, a hint system, and some improved controls for those of you that docked the original for that.
Wait, that’s not enough? Okay: it’s due out this fall.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey full Trailer Unleashed
Yep, Atlus has finally released it’s full trailer for their upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey on the DS. There’s lots of dramatic monologue, some demons, more demons, and we learn that M-Man is down. Shit just got real.
Remember the the game is scheduled to release on March 23rd, and will be packed with a soundtrack CD free with every box (for a limited time we assume) so get out there and get the game as soon as it hits shelves.

PS3 and 360 get Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Wii and DS owners get Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Yup, it looks like the Wii and DS are going to be getting it’s own Batman game. Warner has announced today that the consoles will be getting Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which will be based off of the animated series. I mean just look at the art above, doesn’t it look like it could easily match up with Arkham Asylum?
The game will be featured in the world that the cartoon takes place in, with single player and co-op, and dozens of popular villains as well as many heroes that you can also play as. We don’t know if it’s an open worldish game, or level based, or whatever. No screens or anything else yet but we’ll be sure to keep you guys updated because I know you’re on the edge of your seats.

There’s also Aura-Aura Climber on the DSi, which sounds like an interesting game in which you help a thing called an Aura-Aura grapple his way to his home, collecting items along the way. And THEN…
