Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge announced, hitting this summer
Yup, like was being speculated last weekend, LucasArts has just announced that they’re going to be releasing a special edition of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, which will be coming out on the 360, PC, PS3, and Apple App Store.
Like the last game, this one’s going to have a remastered score, hi-def graphics, full voice over, and the hint system all return. Players will also get to choose whether they want to directly control Guybrush, or use the ol’ point-and-click style of navigation. There’s also commentary from the makers of the original game, which will prove to tell us some interesting information and will allow us to the good ol’ memories of yesteryear.
“The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition really resonated with gamers young and old thanks to its classic storyline and updated gameplay features,” said LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez. “We’re adding even more great new features in this sequel and can’t wait for classic Monkey Island fans and newcomers alike to experience perhaps the most beloved installment in the franchise ever.”
Get prepared for all of the goodness of this special edition this summer. In the mean time, check out some screenshots of the new game, as well as some comparison shots between the original game.

OnLive set to start streaming games in June for $15 a month
Yup, you heard it: OnLive has announced at GDC that their service will launch on June 17th in the United States, and will cost you $14.95 per month (which includes the service itself, but not the rental and ownership fees of games).
You want more you greedy bastard?
If you’re one of the first 25,000 people to pre-register for the service, they’ll give you the first 3 months of OnLive for free. Let me re-iterate that: FOR FREE!
Unless of course you live in Hawaii or Alaska, in which case you won’t be getting any OnLive. Ever. Suckas.

People are really taking advantage of how awesome Bad Company 2 is
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is out, and people are all over the online doing this and that, ranting and raving about how good the game is (oh wait, are those servers up yet?). Well here are two videos of people taking advantage of explosives, and using them to thwart the other their own team. I say it’s only a matter of time before buildings are flying through the air because of explosives.

New Fallout 3: New Vegas screens; this game just keeps on getting better, and better
Yup, GamesThirst is providing us with a whole plethora of new screenshots for Fallout 3: New Vegas, and as is to be expected, the game looks a lot like it’s predecessor. A lot of it is recycled graphics, but honestly I can put that all aside because of one simple fact: It’s mother-fucking Fallout 3: New Vegas.
The game is coming out this fall, and the hype machine is starting to work, as people are claiming it to be either number 1 or number 2 for their game of the year in 2010. I’m gonna have to lend my helping hand in the hype, as I’m saying it’s number 1 on my list.

New Crysis 2 PC scans looks like….something that looks really damn beautiful
There have been lots of Crysis 2 scans and screens for the PS3 and such so far. Well now it looks like Games Thirst is bringing us some new scans from PC Gamer Magazine. Just look at them, soak them in for a second.
Has your brain exploded from all of the awesome?
Well if it has, then you probably have a high-end graphics card capable of playing this game at full options. For most of us though, we’re stuck playing the game at mediocre to low-end graphics. But then again, isn’t that the beauty of PC gaming?
No.

Valve Officially Confirms Portal 2; It’s coming to the 360 and PC
Through the cover of GameInformer, which you can see above, Valve has officially confirmed that Portal 2 is real. GameInformer has told us that the game is a “full-fledged, standalone sequel”, and it has “gameplay mechanics, storyline, and some surprising new twists.” Sounds way, way too awesome.
Not only that, but Valve’s own Doug Lombardi told EuroGamer that the game will be hitting the PC and 360, and will be coming this holiday season.
I don’t know about you guys, but since 2007, it’s been a long wait for a Portal 2, and after playing through the game countless times and doing all of the challenge puzzles, I’m ready for more. Do you guys think that a sequel can top the original?

Rumor: Is that a special edition of Monkey Island 2 I smell?
The Monkey Island special edition that Lucasarts did was pretty damn awesome. People loved it, it sold a good amount, and now Kotaku is feeding us rumors of Lucasarts doing a special edition of Monkey Island 2. They say that the game might be announced at GDC, it will be completely redone with graphics and audio like it’s predecessor, and might even come out on PlayStation Network, which the first one didn’t.

You got good game ideas? If you’ve got the right one you could get $1mil from Nexon
Are you a game developer, or do you have some hot ideas for a PC game? Well Nexon has just announced it’s “The Nexon iNitiative,” which is a program to give the next generation developers ways to go through with their ideas and if good enough, Nexon will publish them and distribute the game through their network. That’s 1 million dollars for ya.
“Nexon is all about great games and The Nexon iNitiative is about finding the next generation of great game developers,” said Won Il Sue, Nexon America’s vice president of business development. “It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’ve got a great idea, we want to hear from you. We’re ready to fund, develop and publish the best of the best through our massive worldwide network. We know that there are a lot of developers out there, both professional and amateur, who feel frustrated at the barriers to getting a truly unique and innovative game developed and published. The Nexon
iNitiative is the place they can turn to with those great ideas that will sweep those barriers aside.”
If you’ve got the ideas check out the website at http://initiative.nexon.net and submit it. You’re idea might just be 1 million dollars good.

Go Figure: Take-Two says they will “continue to support the title with more add-on content”
Gearbox has more than a terrific job at supporting their hit game Borderlands with DLC and add-on content. Well Take-Two CEO Ben Feder has announced some un-surprising information about future DLC for the game. Yippers.
“Borderlands continues to build on its success in the market,” Feder said during the quarterly financial call [Thanks, Kotaku] The Secret Armory of General Knoxx was the “highest scoring in the series.”
“We will continue to support the title with more add-on content.”
It’s good to hear that the General Knoxx pack did so great, and I’ve dug all of the DLC so far for the game and am stoked to see what they plan on doing. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what they plan on doing with the new content.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is out: Here’s the launch trailer and TV Spot
Battlefield: Bad Company has finally come out today, and people are rushing (or they better) to the stores picking the game off the shelves like it’s [insert simile or analogy here]. What does that mean? Well the whole TV spot and launch trailer was just an excuse to make another article about the game, but above you can see the launch trailer and below the TV spot. As always, there’s tons of explosions, review scores, blood, rockets, so on, and so forth.
Also if you get the game and register the game at http://veteran.battlefield.com and pick up the M1 Rifle for pretty much nothing. Also remember you can pick up the DLC pack numeral uno for free, with the Nelson Bay (Rush) and Laguna Alta (Conquest) maps included.
Can anyone say #1 spot for the UK sales at the end of this week?
