DPrime Review: Castlevania Judgement

Castlevania Judgment DPrime Review: Castlevania Judgement

The Castlevania Series didn’t make a smooth transition from 2D to 3D, Castlevania 64, Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, while not bad titles, haven’t reached the level of their two dimensional counterparts. Instead of trying the same thing over and over again, Konami decided to take a different path. Castlevania Judgment is more along the lines of a one on one open ended arena fighter with various in stage hazards and items to use similar to the original Power Stone. It’s no secret that before its release Castlevania Judgment was looking to be a flawed title, Konami even gave permission to employees to remove people from the booth at E3 if they were making fun of the title while playing it. Can Castlevania Judgment waggle its way into your heart, or will you be stabbing it with a stake?

Developer Of Six Days In Fallujah Basically Dead

sixdaysinfallujah 3 small Developer Of Six Days In Fallujah Basically Dead

Out of 75 people, less than a dozen are left and about a third of that isn’t even developers, the remaining team is basically a skeleton cleanup crew that will be gone soon too. They are trying to downplay the extent of these layoffs, but the reality is that Atomic is pretty much dead.

It’s disappointing to see a company go down like this simply because they attracted too much negative attention that pushed publishers away and eventually pushed Konami away from the project. If there was any chance of it actually coming out still, those chances have most likely been shot.

Square Enix Q3 Release List

square enix release dates 618x464 Square Enix Q3 Release List

Unless something major comes up it looks like all of these release dates are pretty solid. Hopefully they will stay this way.  It’s still strange to me seeing the Square Enix Logo on a Batman game.

Hudson Announces Tower of Shadow For The Wii

Tower of Shadow

Now here is something that we have not seen before, a Wii game that Hudson calls a “shadow-action adventure.” Yep you heard me – shadows, and lots of it.

There’s no release date and no details, but there are some small things mentioned that we know so far about this game. The teaser page is quite the puzzle and the game is said to have lots of those. In this psuedo-platformer that is suppose to be reminiscent of Ico, you control a shadow boy who is trying to ascend a tower by walking on the shadows that the platforms cast. With the aid of a shadow butterfly who controls the light source to make puzzles and jumps easier, the shadow boy can interact with the shadows to move things in the real world. An example of this would be moving the shadow of a lever to move the actual lever. So far this looks really interesting and the idea is really creative, hopefully we’ll get more info in the future. Till then, here’s some screenshots! The shadow boy is in them but he is hard to see at first, take a look:

DragonQuest9llogo Dragon Quest IX Not Due Till At Least April 2010 Over Seas

While Dragon Quest’s fan base isn’t nearly as big over seas as it is in Japan, it’s disappointing to hear that Dragon Quest Fans will have to wait at least another nine months to get their hands on Dragon Quest IX.

Electromagnetically Charge Your WiiMote Now!

Are you fat, are you lazy? ARE YOU BOTH!? Then you might want to check out the stylish “Wireless Charging Dock” by Kamikaze Gear that allows people using it to charge their Wii Remotes without connecting or removing the Wii-Motion Plus or the cover.

“While charging a battery through induction is no novelty, it makes the charging process much easier,” says Kai-Peter Enzian, CEO of Pebble Entertainment GmbH.

The package will include the charging station, a rechargeable lithium ion battery and the Y connection cable. The battery can still be charged even when the Wii console is switched off to always keep it operational.

It’s coming out this month, so I guess we’ll see how it works, in the mean time, check out some of the pictures of the device below.

North America: 500,000
Europe: 600,000

Blow Faces off with the Buckshot Pump-Action Shotgun for the Wii

Buckshot black 618x618 Blow Faces off with the Buckshot Pump Action Shotgun for the WiiUmmm….I don’t really know what to write, except why the hell are you going to need a pump-action shotgun for the Wii? I mean, I guess it would be cool for games like House of the Dead, and maybe like Resident Evil or something, but I don’t really know. It looks pretty cool, and I guess if I can blow the face off a zombie with it I will pick it up.
