If you didn’t want to hear jokes about Tony Hawk: Ride, you should never have put out the game
It’s hard enough for me to even make one post about Tony Hawk: Ride in a day because of how shitty it is. Well me making fun of the game is exactly what Activision community dude Dan Amrich says he doesn’t want to hear.
“You can all just keep the TH board jokes. There’s only 2 things to do: make it better or make you feel like you wasted $. I vote better.”
Hahaha yeah, too bad we already wasted our money. Seriously though, I’m hoping for a better game, A LOT better. Just let me get that across Activision: if there’s another skateboarding game that uses the ride board that is 3 hours long, has the shittiest controls ever, and makes me want to jump off a moving burro into a canyon, I’m going to be pissed.
Just saying.

Activision has hope for the RIDE board; I say you should give up on that now
Tony Hawk ride…well, let me say that it was kind of like spending money to actually pick up the dog shit in your yard. You don’t want to do it at-fucking-all, and of course you don’t want to pay for it! Yep, that’s it. Unfortunately, there is still hope in the board…yeah.
“This year, with the hardware complete, we’ll be focused on improving the software to unlock the full potential of the board.” - Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith
I’m not gonna say that you couldn’t do something cool on the board, of course you could, it’s just the track record that it has that leads us to automatically assume that anything using the Ride board with the Tony Hawk name attached to it will be shit.
Fair assumption.

Modern Warfare 2 still lacking in revenue, only makes $1 billion in sales so far
We thought Modern Warfare 2 was doing pretty well after getting a remarkable $550 million in the first 5 days the game was out. Now Activision thought it worth our time for them to put out a press release saying that the game has broken $1 billion dollars. What a waste of time.
“Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 has exceeded our expectations and shattered theatrical box office and video game records,” said Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “There are only a handful of entertainment properties that have ever reached the $1 billion mark, which illustrates the power of the Call of Duty franchise and mass appeal of this game.”
Honestly I don’t want to hear anymore about this game until it sells more money than every video game has made in the history of forever, because frankly, a measly $1 billion isn’t cutting it.
Common Activision, step up.

Modern Warfare 2 becomes likes the Sims so much it’s getting it’s own expansion pack
It looks like when there were remarks made about how Activision and Bobby Kotick really wanted to make money and they’d start releasing expansion packs for Modern Warfare 2, but it looks like that’s actually going to happen. Want more? It’s coming exclusively to the Xbox 360 in the spring, then the PS3 can get it later or something.
No more has been announced about that yet, but Craig Beilinson, the Director of Marketing for Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division did go on record as saying ”2010 will be the biggest year in Xbox’s history,” so we’re hoping that besides Natal there will be some exciting shit coming out.

Kotick says the Call of Duty franchise is ‘greatest entertainment franchises of all time’
To further explain to the world how fucking popular the Call of Duty series is, Activision Blizzard has announced that the whole series has surpassed $3 billion in sales. Jesus Christ. Now, not only is it the “biggest entertainment launch in history”, it is also “one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time”.
Who is quoted as to telling us about this? None other than our best friend Bobby Kotick [1]. Here’s what he says about it:
“Call of Duty has become one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time,” he’s quoted as saying in a press release. “If you consider the number of hours our audiences are engaged in playing Call of Duty, it is likely to be one of the most viewed entertainment experiences in modern history.”
Let’s keep on releasing a game or two a year guys and lets get tons of fucking press about every little detail about the game, and you’ll be up to $6 billion by…. 2015.
[1] prick.
