Final Fantasy XIII is on the bottom of Ray Muzyka’s “to-play” list
I’m going to go out and say that I don’t own nor have I even touched Final Fantasy XIII yet. I’m a huge RPG fan and a big fan of the series, but just because of my lack of time and moolah, I can’t afford to get it. It’s also…not something that I’m really looking forward to. Just from reviews and what people have personally told me, well I’ve just lost a lot of excitement.
It looks like Ray Muzyka, one of the head honcho’s over at BioWare is pretty not-so-interested in the game as well, expressing this in a Game Informer interview.
“I’ve been reading some reviews on that one. That may be on the bottom of my list right now”
“It’s kind of a question mark. It would have been right up there before I read about it, but some of this other stuff is probably more pressing.”
I can totally see where he’s coming from on it. Although it will be really interesting to see what he has to say once he’s got around to playing the game (although I’m not sure that he has that many pressing things to do).

Dragon Age: Origins rockin’ a Triple Platform Status
BioWare has just announced that their one of their latest blockbusters, Dragon Age: Origins, has amassed 3.2 million in sales, taking it up the triple platinum ranks. Stack that on top of Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Mass Effect, this is their 6th consecutive blockbuster title. Plus, it’s a damn good game and deserves every bit of this!
“This is a tremendous start for the Dragon Age franchise and we are extremely pleased with the great reception the game has already received from critics and fans worldwide,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. “Our team is dedicated to crafting high quality, engaging new adventures and stories in the world of Ferelden for our fans!”
What now? Mass Effect 2, baby.

Mass Effect 2 sex scenes are clearly week and self-censored
Yeah I know, I’m just as confused as you are to be honest. People are now complaining that the sex scenes in Mass Effect 2 are tamer, and thus weaker than that of the original Mass Effect. Seriously, the people on the internet have to fucking find something better to complain about. BioWare came back to those people though saying that they pretty much do whatever the hell they want, and if you don’t like it, you can suck it. (not really what they said)
“People who claim to be old enough and mature enough to handle sex and nudity in a game seem to believe that any lack of sex and nudity in the game is a sign of self-censorship,” said BioWare’s Stanley Woo on the game’s forums. “They generally don’t believe that a game can be called ‘mature’ without explicit sex and/or nudity.”
“Let me tell you, folks, that as a developer full of mature individuals, we are also free to not have explicit sex and/or nudity in our games, no matter what you, Fox News, the government, or Bunky the Wonder Clown has to say about it. We have never considered it a ‘problem,’ it is simply a choice we have made and we have every right to make that choice.”
Well said BioWare, well said. Plus by the looks of it, the choices that they made when making Mass Effect 2 are pretty damn great, so there’s no reason to complain.

Put your Mass Effect face in a nice little database
Mass Effect 2 has this nice little feature that allows you to craft the face of your character just exactly how you want it. Well, BioWare has included a system that makes a unique code for your face when you create them, and if somebody else inputs that into their game, they can get the same one.
Well, somebody has gone through the trouble to create a simple website with a database that allows users to upload their codes and a snapshot of the face will be created as well so everybody can see and get new faces for their game.
On the Mass Effect 2 forums, the creator said: “This was done very quickly (took me about 3 hours) so I know it looks a bit ugly right now. I’ll try and get one of my graphic designer friends to whip up a header or maybe even a full skin for it later this week”.
The website is kind of crude but is clean and works exactly as it’s supposed to. Kudos to the coder for taking the initiative to do this, can’t wait to see some of the creations that people come up with.
