PS3 Firmware 3.15 dated and detailed
It looks like about the upcoming firmware update for the PS3, 3.15 has been announced with official details about what’s going to be included. From what we’re hearing, the update will be optional but will allow users to hook up their PSPgo’s to their PS3, and any Mini that you’ve bought, you can now play on the home console. You will also be able to transfer data from one PS3 to another via an Ethernet cable.
The update is hitting on Dec. 17th, and from then on can enjoy all of your Minis on your 1080p TV! (although you have to actually own a PSPgo).

Full list of changes in the PS3 Firmware 3.10
The most recent firmware update for the PS3 (3.10) comes loaded with a lot of updates and features. Like we posted yesterday, there’s now Facebook integration as is in the 360.
Well, PlayStation LifeStyle has put together a full list of all of the changes and additions to the latest firmware.
- Added the ability to access some Facebook features from the XMB.
- Added the option to automatically send updates to the user’s Facebook profile when Trophies are unlocked.
- Added the option to automatically send updates to the user’s Facebook profile when items are downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
- Added the option to automatically send updates to the user’s Facebook profile for in-game events (in compatible games)
- The [Friends] list has been redesigned.
- The user is now able to change the color of their [Profile].
- Expanded [Photo] folders and playlists are now displayed in a grid, rather than a list.
- Added RTVE, Antena 3 and LaSexta catch-up TV website shortcuts for users in Spain under [TV].
- Added NOS catch-up TV website shortcut for users in the Netherlands under [TV].
- Added AXN and Animax catch-up TV website shortcuts for users in Czech, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia under [TV].
- Added TVNZ catch-up TV website shortcut for users in New Zealand under [TV].
- Added [Facebook] menu item under [Account Management] allowing the user to change Facebook sharing and account settings.
- Improved the performance of the Internet Browser
As you can see, there have been lots of features added and a lot changes made. Sony’s doing good supporting everything on the PS3, and this firmware is just one way of proving that. Kudos Sony. ![]()

PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 2.60 Will Bring New Photo Gallery App, More DivX Support Tomorrow

The PS3’s 2.60 firmware update adds a lot more fixes and features, such as the new Photo Gallery app. The app can supposedly check faces, organize whether the person is smiling or not, how old the person is, colors, landscapes, and all of that good stuff. Other updates include a new 3.11 version of DivX encoding and guest access to the PlayStation store.

PS3 Firmware (v2.53) Update
Just some tiny little updates to the forth coming PS3 firmware 2.53 updates. Here’s what’s in the works:
- Full-screen mode playability
- Live movie (using RTMP format) playability
The flash player is also going to be vastly improved, so your internet surfing will be enhanced, and you can do it in wide screen too!
