Courtney Love says that Kurt Cobain would’ve been cool with Guitar Hero 5, but since he’s dead…

Kurt+Cobain+Guitar+Hero+5+2009+grunge+Activision 585x328 Courtney Love says that Kurt Cobain wouldve been cool with Guitar Hero 5, but since hes dead...Courtney Love, once married to the late and great Kurt Cobain, isn’t really happy with how Kurt was portrayed in the game. She does say that he would have found it funny, but he’s dead which changes things up automatically..right?

She was chatting it up with the UK’s NME magazine, ranting about things, dropping some swear words (we don’t condone those).

What pisses me off the most about it is I think Kurt would be fine with having five Kurt Cobains singing the (Spice Girls) song Wannabe, like, ‘Tell me what you want, what you really really want.’ … I think he’d find that really funny.

But at the same time it’s gross what they did. Gwen [Stefani] started the lawsuit. I have really good lawyers now and will join that lawsuit. There was this grey area and they fucked the lot of us. They didn’t fuck Jack White, but they fucked Gwen, fucked Johnny Cash and fucked Kurt … It’s just gross. This is the rock ‘n’ roll business, this is what people do. They are sleazy; they do sleazy things.

I’m sure that she’s getting all sorts of sympathy from this, but I really don’t see it as a huge deal. Maybe it is though; I would just advise her to just let her lawyers work with this one and just stop complaining about Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero 5 DLC Will Be Incompatible With Guitar Hero: World Tour

GHSH003 618x347 Guitar Hero 5 DLC Will Be Incompatible With Guitar Hero: World Tour

Though Activision has announced that there will be downloadable content shortly after Guitar Hero 5’s release, unfortunately it will not be backwards compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour. However, the DLC will be compatible with future Guitar Hero and Band Hero games. Previous DLC will be compatible and in the future it’ll be possible to export songs from Guitar Hero: World Tour and Smash Hits in Guitar Hero 5 (the songs will require you to download tracks with Guitar Hero 5’s updated features though).

The new DLC content is said to include band moments, expert+ drumming, and new vocal star power.

Wii 32GB SD Card And SD Streaming Support Launches With Guitar Hero 5

Guitar Hero 51 Wii 32GB SD Card And SD Streaming Support Launches With Guitar Hero 5

Back in October 2008 Nintendo promised to allow users to use a SD 32GB. The support is finally coming for it , but something else is in store too…

“…straight-up booting off the SD card is available, and that means easier downloads, larger expansions, and quicker loads when bringing in song data from the SD card into GH5.”

The article also confirms that downloading tracks on the Wii version of Guitar Hero 5 will not require single track downloads anymore and will feature albums and track packs available for download. The most important part of this is the fact that 32GB and streaming off SD cards will be available for retail games. Allowing for more possibilities when it comes to DLC  in retail titles. That being said though, Nintendo tends to be a strange company and only time will tell if they will have certain limits on the system at all that may effect other games.

Track Imports for Guitar Hero 5 Finally Delivered

Guitar Hero 5

If you’ve ever played Guitar Hero and Rock Band, then you’ll know that sometimes it can be a real drag when you want to play a song that’s on one of the other CD’s from the series. Rock Band 2 already has this feature where you can import songs from its previous, Rock Band. However, with so many games under the belt of Guitar Hero, this can easily become more of a frustration and an inconvenience. Luckily, track imports will be implemented in Guitar Hero 5 as Activision Head of Music Licensing Tim Riley says to IGN,

It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while now,” said Activision head of music licensing Tim Riley to IGN. “They are separate licenses, so we need to go back and re-license previous content. So, songs from World Tour, songs from the download space, songs from Smash Hits that will technically work in Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero had to be renegotiated.

World Tour and Smash Hits are the only ones with this integration so far, but Riley promises on licensing for as many songs possible.

We didn’t want to do it for a couple songs,” added Riley. “We wanted to do it for a couple hundred songs. So we have a lot cleared and we’re in the process of clearing a lot more.

As with Rock Band 2, there will be a small price to import the songs from previous games.
