PS3 Racks up more than 3.8 million in units sold over the holiday season

We posted the other day about what Nintendo estimated as to being the sales of the Wii and other software and hardware over the holiday season, and they figured around 4 million. Well Sony has come out and have announced the sales of the PlayStation 3 worldwide  during the holiday season (~November 24 to December 28), and the system got a 76% boost from last year exceeding more than 3.8 million sold. Needless to say this was the best holiday season the little console has had in it’s lifetime.

With a strong lineup before including games like Uncharted 2, Assassin’s Creed II, Final Fantasy XIII and others, there’s no doubt that it would do well considering the major price drop. The lineup looks strong for the console too into the new year. Notable games include God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, and MAG. Well done Sony, you didn’t suck this holiday season and competed. We’re proud of you and stoked on your lineup this year.

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Tis the season to be holly, and I guess I’m wishing everybody that reads the blog an early Merry Christmas! I did work today and get as many posts up as I can (I’m lying), but tomorrow’s Christmas so don’t expect more than maybe one or two posts. But yeah, Merry Christmas all of ya, thanks for reading the blog, and sorry I can’t give you all gifts! (expect my over-use of sarcasm and smart-ass remarks gift enough).

Happy New Years Everybody!

Happy New Year to all of the Default Prime visitors today on behalf of all of the authors and contributers here that don’t do anything! We had a great year in 08, now it’s time for 09, and time to screw up on all of your checks that your writing. I hope we can continue the momentum that we’re gathering here, and hopefully we can continue the stream of great games that have been coming out!

Playstation Gamers Will Be Disappointed: Christmas Advertisement Lacks Major Aspects

This is a problem that has been ongoing since the Playstation 3’s release. Sony is neglecting to advertise for their big games. This has been a problem with LittleBigPlanet, although they did put out more advertisments then they normally do, most people, including myself, don’t think it was enough. Now, everyone’s advertising for the Holiday season. Microsoft and Nintendo are doing their part, and even retailers such as GameStop are stepping it up a little bit, but what will Sony do? Well, as of now, we haven’t seen pretty much anything. We can only assume that their either going to kick it up a little bit, or keep it where it’s at now. What do you guys think Sony will do?
