Half-Life 2 Mod: Post Script Episode Microview

Well I don’t know what happened, but for some reason it took me fucking forever to play through the first part of Post Script, the 5-part episodic mod based on Half-Life 2. So here is a microview (that’s a short review don’tcha know), and I’m going to do one for each episode that’s released.

Okay, so in Post Script you’re left in a post-apocalyptic world, where you explore the world, go through the remains of the town, and explore everything. The game is very puzzle-based, whether they’re easy or not. Everything even from like getting into a building is kind of built into a puzzle no matter how much brain power it takes or not.

Along the way in the game, you are being talked to by Celeste, and you are constantly being referred to as “cherub”. We don’t know much more about this at this point, but the tone in which Celeste talks, how negative but also the tone of her voice when she (I’m assuming)  is talking to you is very unique and clever. Celeste’s narrative also is very real and down to earth, like a real person is talking to you.

Overall the game takes about 15 minutes to complete, it took me 2 months to actually play through and get this post up about (sorry Lewis), but the mod is great and honestly, I’m stoked for the other episodes for Post Script. I really think that this could be the start to something great. Keep it up.

Kartos Casemod – the coolest way you’re ever going to do spreadsheets

There are tons of cool casemods for PC’s out there, but this has got to be one of the best. Yes, inside that huge Kratos there’s a PC, talk about nifty. I’m actually kind of glad that I don’t have this in my room because Kratos glowing is the last thing that I want to see when I wake up.

Post Script – Experimental Half-Life 2 mod nearing completion, screenshots and trailer unveiled

Remember Post Script, the series of Half-Life 2 mods that I posted about a couple of days ago? Well, I told you I would keep you updated with all of the new media and news coming out surrounding the game, so here you go. Series of Half-Life 2 Mods focuses on Humanity and Excellent Narrative

Just use the picture above as my way of saying “Happy Thanksgiving” to everybody that reads this site and brings it life. You’re the ones that help make me money look bad, and give me all of the encouragement via your very nice comments. Now, to the story…

Lewis Denby, mod creator, as well as editor for Resolution Magazine, is creating a series of mods based on Half-Life 2. These will examine the nature of society and humanity, taking place in a collapsing, decaying world and how it shapes us and how it’s shaped by us. Complex characters will be included in the game with excellent narrative that you can interactive with and use to learn about the world. It asks how we respond to astonishing hostility and unexpected love. Yes, this is a mod that will make you think about something important. In this series you (the player) will be exploring the vast world that you are given, and occasionally solve a puzzle here and there.

First level of Contra gets remade into Half-Life 2

What is this video above and what the hell is with the title? The first level of the NES classic and you’re mosted hated game ever Contra gets remade in the first person Half-Life 2? Yes and yes. The first level was remade by those oh so clever modders that like to make things awesome (all the time). If you’ve played the original Contra at all, you’ll probably recognize this level automatically, and that you died in your first 100 attempts at completing it. Or maybe that’s just me. Either way, kudos to the people that made the level, it doesn’t suck.
