MK vs DC – The DLC that never will be

quanchi MK vs DC   The DLC that never will beIt’s a well known fact that the roster of selectable characters in the now 8-month old game Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe was missing some key names on both sides.

Series co-creator Ed Boon and the MK team had hoped to address this via downloadable content, but it has yet to, and likely will not ever happen now.

Boon had hinted at appearances from characters like Kung Lao and Doomsday in interviews.

Posting  via his Twitter, Boon has shown one of the designs for a MK Vs. DC DLC character that was planned for release, Quan Chi, first introduced in Mortal Kombat 4.  In his post, Boon states Excited about MK9 and WB, but wish we could have released DLC for MK vs DC.  Here’s a peek..”

Will we ever see characters like Lobo, Quan Chi and [insert your favorite MK/DC character] added to the crossover fighter? According to Boon, right now I dont see it happening. Which is a shame cuz they were just about done.

With work progressing on Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe now eight months old, It’s more than likely that the new Midway under the ownership of Warner Bros. won’t see the value in dedicating more resources to the game at this point.
